And that would be just fine with me. It is much better than him being dead. I have enjoyed his aircraft, certainly for the price point and my only complaint was that it was not taken to the next level as so many of us hoped it would be.
Then again, I also play DCS and my experience with the Gazelle has taught me to never ever say that a module is abandoned or done for by the developers no matter how long the radio silence. Until someone comes out and says the project has been abandoned, it is only “mostly dead” and as you know, there is a big difference between that and all the way dead.
Hmm… the Twin Otter would seem to conflict with this statement. (And the DC-6 for Xbox disappeared for 1.5 years before it returned, which cutoff Xbox purchasers from reinstalling.)
There are any number of reasons, including physical or mental health issues, that a developer might be out of action and perhaps eventually resurface.
No point trying to 2nd guess what is happening or getting angry. it is what it is.
For now, the aircraft still functions as it always did, all the features still work and the bugs like the badly calibrated temp gauge are still there as well. I personally have got more than got my moneys worth and if nothing else this aircraft set a new standard in term of feature sets that encouraged other developers to follow suit.
New purchasers need to be aware it is “as is” and come MSFS 2024 it may well stop working.
Well indeed no update yet, which is a shame as turning on engine damage to me is gambling my flight. Even with the oil temp gauge fix i still can instill engine fires and seizures while running in good engine parameters. On top of that, the dev website of wing42.com and affiliated forum and download seem to be gone as well?
The 247 has been really solid to be honest. The lack of support stings, but I can jump in and fly it today and it will fly as well as the day I bought it. If a Vega does come out, and it reviews very well with no outstanding bugs, I may still buy it, if it’s good.
