Reno Air Races: Expansion Pack $19,99 - Cockpits and more

I’m glad I’m not the only one, on the other hand why the hell is me  friend also bought the package and everything works fine, but maybe he’ll go to a fix for the overall update 7 soon and it will be fixed

Hi @radim 17

How many is the package your friend bought?

Ask him to try the L-39 Albatros Robin 1 and see if it works properly. If yes, I start thinking: What kind of scam is that? Why did they remove the yellow L-·9 Albaros Robin 1 aircraft from Marketplace?

Rgards: Delfin

hello, he bought the same package as me, ie Reno Air Race Expansion with 4 aircraft where there is one from each model. However, I tried my luck and now I bought the L-39C Sarance and it also does not work :frowning: the only difference is that it picks up on its own at 95kts. it’s really very bad and I don’t know what to do with it :frowning:

Must say I flew 3x with the Sarance and only on one take off it floated upwards. But it hard to control with a F310 xbox controller. Other two flights were ok, when using pitch trim. Only got a problem with the HSI abs the selected course does vary with the heading instead of staying on the selected one (yellow arrow)
Will try to fly the L-39 Sarance coming week when I’m able again.

Hi @radim 17

Before buying groups of planes (by the dozens) , I had some mistrust that they would fly well. So I decided to buy just one. L-39 Albatros Robin 1 (I liked that color), and you see that nothing at all (nothing

works).

After the first failure, you have now bought only the “L-39 sarance” individually), then that is an unacceptable situation. I see that those collections are unreliable, as nobody knows which one works and which one doesn’t work.

Did you ask your friend (as I indicated above), if in his collection the L-39 Albatros Robin 1 works correctly?

L-39 Albatros Robin 1 works correctly in his collection? It would be even more unacceptable, if in his collection of 10 aircraft, that one works well. I have a real interest in having him test it, let me know if you do me that favor.

it only has this model but it works properly. we had a video call as he flew with him for the first time and everything worked correctly for him

Hi @radim 17

When I saw your video and how that plane that does not fly behaved, I understood how important it is sometimes to send a video of the sequence that you want to show as an argument, it could be worth more than a thousand words.

I don’t know how to make videos in this Sim. Is it laborious or not? Can you tell me briefly how to make a video and where to store it?

I look forward to your answer and thank you.

Regards: Delfin

I did it simply and it was recorded on my phone and uploaded to youtube as a non-public video. if I need it and I will send someone a link to the video directly

I’ve found it requires way more input compared to other planes. I have the trim bound to an axis, rather than buttons, and I have to move that lever all the way up and down. I imagine trimming with buttons would take forever, and then the trim would have completely changed by then anyway at those speeds and power.

Thank you. It could well be that that is happening. If the trim is fine then holing a button down isn’t increasing/decreasing it quick enough. I was ending up just using throttle to try for level flight. Will need to look for adjustment wheel in cockpit.

TrackIR works, there’s just an issue with the key binding within MSFS. Set a keybinding of enable/disable trackIR in MSFS and you should be fine.

But it’s NOT !!! That’s the point of the past 89 posts !!!

My problem solved in Options to switch Flight model from Legacy to Modern. and it’s already flying normally

Glad to hear!

That just patches a problem without fixing it. Let it loose sight of an LED and it turns off again. Try to pause it while looking at an instrument so you can interact with it, it turns off again after recentering the view (the whole reason you pause it is so that the view sticks were you were looking). Take a sip of coffee, off again. Sneeze, off again. Look to your map on a second monitor, off again.

As I stated, I wanted to buy the complete Reno package. But I’m no longer spending any money on this sim that’s now been made miserable to fly because of stuff broken with SU7.

Excuse my ‘reply’ - it’s not one really! I bought just one of the T6’s. It’s very nice (visually) and flies well, but:

  • No elevator trim wheel that I could find (though trim works OK via joystick buttons).
  • Does the real thing have a rudder trim? Couldn’t find one on my T6.
  • Rudder occasionally shows up in external view as moving in the opposite sense to the actual direction.
  • No gauge/cockpit lights. A switch is supplied (labelled ‘Guage’ , sic), but seems to do nothing apart from emitting a click.
  • ASI supposedly graduated in mph; it’s actually graduated from 0-100 in ??? units. After some calibration flights, I found that the unknown units appear to be (mph)/3 . -sigh-
  • Fuel gauge figures are completely different from those of the game fuel state readings.
  • Cockpit canopy and door do not open.
  • Inside the cockpit, the engine sounds like a wet f**t. A C152 sounds like a Spitfire in comparison.

… etc, etc.

Query: is this another half-baked aeroplane for a quick sale?

“Standard” T-6 (used for qualification):

  1. Elevator trim

  2. Gauge/cockpit lights + ASI

  3. Right inner fuel tank

  4. Left Inner fuel indicator counts Left Inner and Reserve Tanks
    together.

  5. . Left Inner fuel indicator with Left Inner Tank with 100% of fuel + empty Reserve Tanks

Your (I hope  ) elevator trim (it is just in black and not visible in this cockpit)

Fuel gauge Looks OK for me, at list for quantity measuring, and additionally, she has traditional T-6 fuel gauges available via view option in the Check-list.

ASI is strange, really - needs to be explained. GPS is not working, Currently, if we need to know our airspeed we have to use Mini HUD in the cockpit. Looks not bad and does not kill my immersion, as the cockpit is small anyway to read gauges even on my 4K. The AH is strange as well - looks caged, but operational:)

ASI inflight

For night lighting I use hand light :)))

Rudder Trim is here as well

Hi CommonBloom31

Thank you for that - at least I can now find the proper fuel gauges - doh!

I should have mentioned the version I have is the Six Cat, so I assume that the cockpit is a ‘special’. So special that the ASI is calibrated 0-100. Perhaps Reno racers live in percentage land? Anyway, as previously mentioned, the calibration multiplication factor is very near to 3, to get the airspeed in mph. Even in IFR conditions, I can do that!

Did you manage to find a rudder trim? But there again, Reno types probably bend the rudder a bit on the walk-around (after kicking the tyres, of course).

Cheers again for the help : )

David

The rudder trim wheel is in the picture above (with other “Six Cat” pictures. It is on the left to the elevator one. Unfortunately, there is no axis for the rudder and aileron trims in MSFS (and in every simulator from Microsoft).
