I want to ask the developers when we can expect a real fix for the external aircraft lighting in MSFS 2024. I am facing two major issues:
1. Daytime Exterior Lighting (Video Attached)
The attached video shows how the daytime exterior lighting SHOULD look—clean, crisp, and perfectly balanced. However, in my simulator, it doesn’t look like this. The dynamic exposure is broken, making the sky, the terrain, and the airplane fuselage look completely overexposed and washed out.
2. Indestructible Night Navigation Lights (Photo Attached)
The attached photo shows the bug on my aircraft at night. There is a fixed green and red glowing point on the wingtips that is completely impossible to remove or turn off, no matter what you do. It just stays floating there permanently, ruining the night immersion.
When will these external lighting bugs be officially fixed?
Unfortunately, these lighting issues have been going on for a long time, and we still haven’t seen a fix or received a clear response. We raised the questions during the livestream, but got nothing, just crickets. I wish they’d take a serious look at fixing the lighting and compare it with how that other sim handles it. The lights should look and behave much closer to that.
No, that’s not what I mean. The lights do turn off when you flip the switch in the cockpit.
The bug is that even when the navigation lights are turned off, that specific glowing green point (the visual sprite/mesh) stays detached and floating in the air on the wingtip. It looks like a duplicate default MSFS light asset that is stuck and won’t disappear, regardless of the cockpit switch state.
Exactly, I’ve seen so many topics about this, but it feels like Asobo is only focusing on stupid things. The lighting has been going downhill ever since MSFS 2020, especially when it comes to night lighting.
It seems like they don’t even read the forums or reply because they either don’t care or are just incapable of fixing it. It is incredibly frustrating to see no response and no solutions to bugs that have been broken for years.
733 days since these lighting issues were first raised. Yet here we are, still asking for the same thing, aircraft lighting that looks and behaves as they should. After this much time, the silence is hard to understand.
