'Request Taxi IFR' fails to show taxi guide on secondary same session flight

Brief description of the issue:
After a successful landing, unloading baggage and Jetway connection (if applicable) once you are all setup for a secondary flight, after requesting a Taxi IFR the guides do not show up to show the way to assigned runway.

The following assumes Flying aids are set to custom. No AI co-piloting, manual ATC confirmations. Taxi Guides enabled, Landing Guides disabled.

Game Startup

  • Start MSFS

  • Select an airport to start from, and an appropriate gate (Medium), and the A320 Neo (Xbox Livery if appropriate) and spawn WITHOUT selecting a target airport

Flight Setup

  • Switch External Power to: On

  • Turn on Battery 1 and 2, Turn off External Power

  • Use the MCDU to:

a) (INIT) Set current airport code, target airport code (KSFO/KLAX)
b) (INIT) Set a cost index (2), and cruising height (160)
c) (PERF) Set an appropriate take-off flaps configuration (e.g. 1)
d) (PERF) Select the relevant ‘v’ speeds for take-off (v1, v2, v3)

  • Turn on No Smoking Sign

  • Turn on Seat Belt Sign

  • Tune to Ground Services and request Ramp and Baggage, click ‘Safety Master Warning’ to dismiss Ramp connection warning . Go back to clearance.

  • Request IFR Clearance for Instruments FP

  • Set ‘Selected Altitude’ to ATC assigned height and Read back

  • Request Taxi IFR, Acknowledge Clearance (Taxi Guides will show)

Engine Startup

  • Turn on APU Bleed

  • Turn on APU Master Switch

  • Turn on Engine Pumps

  • Request Pushback, set Handbrake to ‘Off’ until pushback complete. Handbrake ‘On’.

  • Set ‘Engine Mode’ to: IGN/Start

  • Set 'APU Starter to: On

  • Turn on ‘Engine 1’ once complete, turn on ‘Engine 2’

  • Set ‘Engine Mode’ to ‘Normal’

  • Set ‘Taxi Lights’ to ‘Taxi’

  • Set Handbrake to ‘Off’ and follow Taxi Guides to Runway. Take off, set AP1 on to follow the the Flight plan. Follow all ATC instructions (where sensible) and get landed.

  • After Landing, contact Ground and ‘Request Taxi to Gates’

  • Follow Guides to Gate. Turn off Engine 2 then Engine 1 to complete the flight.

  • Click on ‘Continue’ to stay in the same session

  • Setup a new flight, with the starting/target airports reversed (KLAX/KSFO), repeat the steps under section ‘Flight Setup’.

Taxi guide will not show the path to the runway.

I don’t think MSFS is designed for multiple-legged flights per session. It’s always been like that. I always end a flight, then start a new flight from the same gate if I want to fly out again.

It’s an option but I’d rather not have the wait of having to go through that, although I eventually end up with a CTD - luckily normally at the end of a flight recently.

Ironically it didn’t happen on my last flight, so it seems that it’s not every time.
