Hello. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this and/or found a solution.
The Throttle Axis is always reversed. So when I have the throttle in the forward position which is where you put it for full Throttle in sim. The game has that as no throttle input. Then when you have it is the back position. The game thinks you have full throttle.
I have tried multiple things to work out what is happening. Even with the Reverse Axis box ticked. The game shows the correct device input, until I changed screen. Then it is back to being reversed inputs. Meaning, the only way to fly is by having the throttle in the full position for idle and in the back position for 100% throttle. Leading to all sorts of confusion and frustration as I instinctually do the pull the throttle back for no power.
I have tried multiple things to get this fixed. I have reinstalled the Thrustmaster drivers, Changed USB Ports, Run only the throttle. Doesn’t matter what I do, still does it.
I have also tried hunting for the folder that contains the profiles in order to check if I could see anything there. No luck finding anything yet.
Thanks
I suspect you have bound it to the wrong axis, I had my rudder bound to “rudder” or something when it should have been “rudder axis” thus when I tapped rudder in any direction it went full, in a nutshell I’d bound the axis as a button.
Check your config as I have the same stick and throttle and no problems.

Just a side note … Quite funny my friend had his throttle and mixture accidentally on the same axis … one was reversed so when he hit 100% throttle he hit 0% mixture so his takes offs didn’t really go to plan, took him an hour to work it out.

This is the bind that I am working on. I am off the belief that it is a saving issue. That the profile is not saving correctly and then resetting to default.
Perhaps I didn’t fully understand, does the throttle work it just refuses to accept the reverse box tick and is always doing it backwards for you?

yes, That is exactly what it is doing.
All I can add is that I also have the TM HOTAS Warthog and inverting the throttle axis worked just fine here.
This might be dumb but after you change the setting do you hit validate then save changes down the bottom? Might be f11 I think I’m away from the PC atm
I have done all that, I have even deleted the profile and started again. Rebound using the R throttle instead of the left. Same issue. It just doesn’t seem to be saving my changes.
Do we know where MSFS saves control profiles?
I had a few issues in a previous version where I tried to clear the mouse wheel zoom, I’d clear the function, validate, save, but it would be ignored.
Could be related but I’ve had no issues in release build. Perhaps there’s a read only tag or user account permission problem in the way, try loading as administrator if you don’t already (although I don’t)
Running through Xbox Game Pass, Can’t see a way to boot as Admin in there. Program seems extremely basic.
Have you tried making a new profile for the hotas?
Just tried that. Saved all my binds that I assigned, Did a couple of random ones to test different controls. Everything saved, even the axis that I assigned to the throttle. But won’t reverse axis.
I am about ready to do a full reinstall of the game. Just not sure if I want to download the entire 90gb in the slow downloader again.
I’m terribly sorry I can’t figure out why it is behaving this way for you. Before you reinstall try moving the throttle to a different USB, swap it’s position with your stick maybe then restart and try again.
I might ask does the throttle reverse in the configuration menu (the little bar that indicates position) when ticked?
I have done all the above numerous times… It is quite frustrating. Game looks amazing, I want to fly. But I can’t safely fly with an inverted Throttle.
The axis does reverse properly when I tick the box and shows it moving in the correct direction. Then when I save and go into another menu. It is back to inverted.
We know for sure it should be working then it’s just not saving your profile, these maybe located in your user directory / my documents look there first and maybe delete before you go for a full download again.
How fast is your internet?
I am on 50MB Fibre.
I have gone hunting for files that would indicate the save location of the profiles. So far I have not had any luck. Only thing I could find was in
C:\Users\Seb_m\AppData\Local\FlightSimulator
Nothing is in My Documents that I can see, And the only folder that I can see related to controls is
C:\Microsoft Flight Sim\Official\OneStore\fs-base-ingamepanels-controls
I moved this folder to another directory in the hopes that MSFS would redownload the files and maybe fix the issue.
No luck.
Does it ignore any other changes you make? Bind say parking brake to H or something and see if that gets reset too, just curious really!
I just played with a number of different controls. Binding items to the Keyboard save correctly. Even key binds for buttons on the hotas seem to save correctly.
For science, I went into the Stick and inverted the Aleron Axis, Saved it. Came back into the setting again and it had reverted. Which leads me to believe there is something else interfearing with the Thrustmaster.
I am going to completely unistall the drivers and start again with the Hotas software. Also verify the Firmware.
Thank you for your assistance. Will post again if/when I get some more news.
Does the warthog have a profile manager? If so perhaps do it there…
