Is there a way to just disable this message?

I wish! I can tell on my own when my resources are bogged down, I don’t need a message that pops up even when things are fine.

It’s not a bug, it’s an annoying “feature” that is useless to begin with. If the performance drops because we set the graphics too high, we are quite well capable of noticing that ourselves. We don’t need that popup to tell us the graphics card is struggling. MAKE IT STOP

This guys know how to make most annoying piece of software ever. I haven’t changed my settings since I remember. Everything works fine for me (fixed 30fps in 1440p) but this popup appears randomly, usually once a flight, sometimes even if all VRAM, RAM, CPU and GPU are far from max. I don’t understand the purpose of this message. By the way it’s interesting that my expierience is fine (no fps drops, no CTD) even if VRAM hits 99%.

This message drives me nuts. Absolutely pointless, annoying. Just like the “Press TAB to open EFB” message when in avatar mode. What’s the point? Nothing. Sheer annoyance, force-fed to the user, without the option to disable/hide the message.

Yeah, chiming in here on this one. Super annoying. Interesting to note, I was using the MS Store version and never had this message. Recently, I switched to the Steam version and this message incessantly pops up. I do not have performance issues; this message pops up at literally any microsecond stutter.

It did not do this in the MS Store version for the same type of microstutters, for what it’s worth. I also use a 4090 and have very good overall performance. This message pops up all the time when performance is completely fine and there should be a way to disable it.

I think the day-to-day/hour-to-hour variations in server/CDN performance are more to blame as the packages within the Steam and MS Store versions are essentially the same. I could be wrong, but that has always been the explanation given by developers as those two versions are not built differently afaik.

I seem to be getting this even more frequently recently. I do use the Fenix which I know can be resource heavy, but again it’s not just about whether it’s correct or not (although based on my performance, which feels smooth, I think it might not be sometimes) it’s just quite annoying and breaks the immersion. I’d love an option to turn it off.

Just got the error msg at MYGF with 0 3rd party mods installed just the tbm and neofly, glad to see the issue is feedback logged tho,

Graphics card Rtx 4070 super, 64gb ram I9-14900kf

Checked now after SU3 and the very annoying message still appears regulary during flights, my HW is a top-highend PC configuration and never need to lower graphical settings as suggested.

Strongly ask the moderator(s) to pass this issue for solvement to the developpers, thanks.

Agree, practically its a useless warning.

Have been simming since FS98 and have never seen such a pointless, irritating, eccentric message.

After all, unless we’ve had a state-of-the-art high-end system we’ve ALWAYS had to take into account some or other lack in our equipment – RAM, VRAM, GPU or PC speed and power, whatever – dial back some FS parameter or another to get the FPS we’re looking for.

Please, please get rid of it – or at least give us loyal customers a way to disable it.

AM5 7900, RTX4080 Super O/C, 128gb DDR5, 2xM.2 SSD’s

I’m getting this message all the time after 30 mins or so gameplay. I should be able to run this sim at full settings with my setup but something is going on. Graphics start chugging and 1 frame every second. Not good Asobo, you need to fix whatever is causing this

You can try disabling ReBar, if enabled. This usually helps until they are able to resolve the issue.

Please give us an option to disable this pointless error message that does nothing but create visual clutter. It is completely unnecessary and very annoying, especially after the SU3 update

i have made a mod that removes this message: https://flightsim.to/file/99683/msfs-2024-remove-resource-usage-exceed-gpu-memory-capacity

The “Resource Usage Exceeds GPU Capacity” message indicates your graphics card is overloaded. Lower graphics settings, close background apps, or upgrade VRAM for smoother performance. For optimization tips, visit

Thank you for your explanation but I think everybody knows what this message means. The problem is it pops up randomly even if sim is running smoothly. For end user it doesn’t matter what is happening under the hood of the sim if it works.

I must add that I am happy what I can squeeze from my pc but… In my case it pops up just before I hit “ready to fly” in heavy scenery. Few second later vram usage stabilize and drops significantly. 99,9% of time I have stable 30fps as set and had no single ctd since day 0 so in my opinion this message is useless and annoying. It’s part of bigger picture. I don’t know, maybe Asobo should invest in UI specialists as interaction with sim is really ugly sometimes.

Already raised issue in other reports. Also my opinion that’s an useless message that randomly appears as popup in the middle of a flight and has no sense to me because I use FS in a high-end PC with ultimate specs on HW(system&graphics). Never encountered stutters or graphical anamolies while this ennoying message appears, so never needed to lower graphical settings.
