I’m back to having good foliage/terrain, but only if automation is on.
I still can’t launch the Quick Start window when automation is on (as it is now.)
I did a fairly long flight after turning automation back on, had good performance, and didn’t have any CTD’s.
I’m going to start adding mods back into the Linker presets.
I don’t think any of them were causing the CTD’s.
We’ll see.
ETA: All ‘General Aircraft’ preset options turned back on. 1+ hour flight. All is well.
I still have issues on the requirement to register the software on every load, have been through the clean/reinstall/register cycle four times now and not managed to get past that.
Support are responding however I have not been able to locate some of the paths/files to be cleaned at all…
Coming to the end of a trip away and should get back to the sim on Sunday, one more attempt, then if unsuccessful it is either downgrade (and I’m not sure it is a downgrade based on current experience) to V6 and if that’s not possible then it (and any future Rex title unfortunately) gets junked.
If this is in the wrong place, sorry. I have been using Accuseason Advanced for over a week now, and like it alot. Suddenly it started making me unable to enter the Marketplace, and makes the sim CTD upon exiting a flight. I know it is this program after a series of process of “elimination un-installs”. Any ideas? Mike
Be aware there seems to be a spate of random connectivity issues going on at the moment that may muddy the water diagnosing your problem there. And even when you have removed AccuSeason and it worked, it could still have been coincidence that it worked then. Maybe…
Sorry man only pulling your leg here (couldn’t resist) but looks like there is a session organised by them just for you!

I am thinking of getting the new version of Accuseason, hoping to make the terrain and atmosphere look a little more realistic and also be able to vary the tree heights and types vs. the standard sim look. I have a few questions about it, and hope some other experienced users might be able to help out.
I currently use the Bijan seasons mods from the marketplace - I have all 4, and manually remove and install them at the appropriate times of year. I presume that if I get Accuseason then I can just uninstall the Bijan mods?
Same question applies to the weather - I currently use a mix of live weather and Floyd’s Epic Clouds, which option I turn to frequently to make things look a bit more realistic, or if ‘Live’ would otherwise put me in darkness or other scenarios I don’t want to use. Since Accuseason also offers weather and cloud presets, I presume I can dispense with FEC (excellent as it is)?
I also use Zinertek Airport Textures from the marketplace and Tatami Marks from flightsim.to. Currently they both work well, and I don’t get any conflicts between the two, just nicer looking well-used runways with the paint colours calmed down over the standard look. Would Accuseason cause any problems with these two? I do prefer the look of runways and airports with both of them installed, and I’d rather not revert to the standard virgin runways look, or can Accuseason also help with this?
I have watched a few installation and review videos and I’m pretty comfortable with the idea of installing it. I use the MSFS addons linker, so I have a ‘backup’ folder where I keep all my addons and then link whichever I want to use to the main Community file. I would do the same with Accuseason, unless it is likely to cause any issues I haven’t foreseen?
Finally, how do users find it when there are sim and world updates? Is it a smooth user experience, or do you forever find yourself troubleshooting and having to make changes? I really like the improved looks it can provide, but if it’s going to be a hassle to update and maintain then I will stick with what I currently use.
All I can share are my experiences. Others may not have had the myriad of issues I had (and am still having) with this mod. I will say that overall the things it brings to the table outweigh the headaches I’ve endured, and also that I’m fully aware that many of the problems may be caused by my computer’s hardware/software setup, or the hardware/software inside my cranium, and not with the mod itself.
I would think you would want to uninstall Bijan.
Using the REX weather preset reliably and repeatedly crashes the sim. REX’s separate Weather app had its own issues, like sudden changes in weather that happened as I flew from one location to the next. Completely unrealistic. The included thunder and lightning was pretty cool, though.
I believe REX has its own addon for airport textures that is completely separate from Accu-Season. It seems to be well-regarded, but at this point I’m a little gunshy about purchasing it.
I also use Addons Linker, but Accu-Season doesn’t play nice with it.
It took me a while to get through my thick skull that you do NOT install Accu-Season into the Linker folder, or the sim’s Community folder. You must install it into some other folder. It was strongly recommended that it not be the default folder. I still don’t understand why that is, but since I trust the knowledge of member @Baracus250 who recommended it, that’s what I did. Once it is installed, you get a Quick Start window that gives you the option to let it place its ‘texture’ folders (for lack of a better word) in the default MS-Store, Steam, or Custom Community folder location. I pointed mine to my custom Community folder location, and it works fine. I tried pointing to my Linker folder, but had even more problems.
Again, do not install the app itself into the Linker or Community folder. It will put its texture folders where they need to be.
I haven’t had it long enough to know whether sim or world updates cause issues. I assume they don’t, since neither of those seem to affect Community files.
Here’s a link to a discussion that details (in excruciating fashion) the main issue I had (and still have.) It took me a long time, a lot of reinstalls of the app, and much gnashing of teeth, to come back to square one.
Namely, I can’t get Accu-Season to work if I choose anything but Automation Mode during Quick Start. And once I do, I can’t access Quick Start again. I’ve accepted that the app will have to run in Automation Mode (on MY computer) and that I just need to be happy with the pretty trees.
Also, that I will not be able to turn the app on and off in Linker presets. It’s always on (since the texture files reside in Community) and I’m fine with that. Like I said, the foliage looks great. and there’s no reason to turn it off.
Maybe, if you have time, you could jump into that “session” and ask them directly why it’s not working as intended, even though you have done it all as suggested now. I guess that is what the session is mainly for… the rest of it won’t take long to go through so that could be useful for you AND them!
No, keep Floyd’s Epic Clouds. The AccuSeason ones are just alternative presets. You need REX’s Weather Force for dynamic preset weather.
AccuSeason has some impact in that the terrain mask that gives the ground its autumnal tone is universal. That’s to say, all fields, gardens, roads, aprons, taxiways and runways have the mask applied to them. Depending on how an airport’s ground textures were created can cause a negligible or a very noticeable effect. AFAIK, there is no showstopping conflict with AccuSeason and either Zinnertek airport textures and/or Tatami marks.
As described by @BegottenPoet228, you do not install using Addons Linker. Just follow the on-screen instructions if you purchase it.
We haven’t had a WU or SU since its release. However, OG AccuSeason was updated in the backend post-SU12(?) and within a couple of weeks. I hadn’t even noticed there was a small performance impact after the Asobo released the SU, yet REX was on it.
Thanks also for the link to the other discussion - I saw it earlier when I searched the forum for answers before I posted b my questions, but the first few posts didn’t really clear up what I wanted to know, and as it is 350+ posts I didn’t read the whole thing.
I have read the whole thing now, and it actually clarified the install process for me, and answered a few questions I hadn’t even thought of, but that will be applicable. I am sorry to read about the install issues you have been having with it, but I understand from the discussion what I’ll need to do on my pc now at least. I know that isn’t helpful for you, and I do hope you get it sorted out.
