Maybe I missed some step on Addon Linker, was a little late in the night xD. I’ll check again.
Also, I think I’ll have to change the rex profile to a more darker spring preset. The place where I usually fly doesn’t have so much green on the trees or fields, having the mask working and less greenish trees is the closer to reality I want to get.
In my opinion the late spring preset it’s the most realistic, at least on my location. Is not the green color… per se, more like its saturation.
EDIT:
okey it works, I forgot Bijan’s masks start applying once reaching october to winter season.
If rex is working on masks for AccuSeasons it would be amazing if there is an option to simply apply a mask that could also affect summer-spring season. For example, a mask to make fields less fluorescent green during those seasons and also that does its expected effect reducing even more green in fall and winter.
Sorry but I can’t think of a single reason why you post this in this thread about REX AccuSeason. And by the way, what happened to Bijan? It seems that he’s really gone from MSFS even though someone tried really hard to make it look like he’s coming back a few months ago. I switched to REX as it’s easier on my FPS and they deliver updates.
If it is Windows Defender flagging the product, I recommend you check for any Windows Updates. You may need the newest definitions. Microsoft has approved our files since we submitted them as false positives.
What antivirus software are you using?
To further clarify what Mike stated, these are all false positives. All our software is scanned before we release and while they are stored on the servers.
I would recommend that when you download the file to make it apart of your exclusions in your AV product.
Hi MedianShrimp. Per the MSFS Forum rules, support questions are to be handled via the product’s support process. In this case, please go to https://rexaxis.com/ and submit a support request ticket and we will be able to take care of the situation for you. Thanks so much.
Hi everybody, am I the only one to see repetition in the positionning of the trees on large area / forest? Is this a known issue?
I submit a ticket on Rexaxis.
Other than that, I’m really happy with AccuSeason!
Hi Yot2so. Thanks for the question. The MSFS codebase uses a method to render vegetation in the distance by using a grid pattern, which dissipates as you get closer. At that point the codebase makes the vegetation look more random. To add, the grid pattern is more visible when there are conifer trees with snow on them as it creates a more visible contrast, and the terrain color has to be within a certain range of green coloring. Also, the grid pattern is more visible with conifer trees due to the shape of the conifer tree canopy, which is cone-shaped. Therefore, in the circumstances when there is a mix of thousands of cone shaped objects in a grid pattern, the contrast of dark green tree coloring, the right green terrain hues, and white snow, the MSFS codebase will render what you see in your pics. I do see this from time to time, but not too frequently. Hope that answers your question.
Hi. It seems to be working fine now. Initially, I had to add an exception to the zip file to get it to even decompress the files. Before, it would trigger windows defender, and then the .exe file would just vanish. But yes, it seems like a Windows update did fix the issues I was having. Thanks for everyones help!
Thanks Mike, I totaly understand your answer. Now I know a bit more about the codebase of MSFS.
And I agree about the circumstances, if I try to remove the snow, the grid pattern is nearly not visible anymore.
Again, thanks!
Just wondering can anything be done about removing trees in the north Pennines UK? I regularly trail run up there and it doesn’t have trees growing. Yet on the game it’s absolutely covered with them. I know this is probably an msfs ai issue but thought I’d ask anyway.
I think the whole lake District area as well needs some work, it’s such a stunning place it deserves to represented correctly without trees all over.
I know this isn’t a fault of rex the trees are great but would be brilliant if some sort of mask can be added to reduce this rediculous trees growth in the area.
Hi Ben and thanks for your question. Something like this might be possible to do down the road as time permits. If possible, I will let you know and get some further details. Thanks again.
Is the new AccuSeason 2023 still in development now that seasons are officially coming in FS2024 or has this project been shelved for good? The highly requested terrain coloring has been teased since fall 2022 (“coming soon”, “ the release is getting very close”) with the last update in march.
