Looks like a reasable evolution, really looking forward.
All new features are solutions for existing pain points (like forrest cities), so it really sounds like a major update and not just some minor things.

I did see snow textures in the winter ā¦. I hope not since that will show months of snow textures despite not a snowflake did fall for example
( and conflicting with online weather snow )
Hi AppliedPython. The ground textures for winter do not include snow baked into the textures. Snow in MSFS codebase is placed on top of any ground textures. Thanks.

Iāve logged into my Rex account but there is no download option for the new version in my products page. All that is there is the version from last April. How do I download it?

Yes, Iāve just checked on their Discord channel. Not released yet, even though there are already upgrade instructions on their website.
in avsim forum they said later in the evening. they are located in phoenix/az. its 6:18 am there nowā¦
Quite silly to update the web site with instructions that arenāt even functional yet. Iāve wasted about 20 minutes trying to get it to update.

Same with me, I even opened a ticket with their support, 'cause I tried both methods in the website to download the āadvancedā version and none was working.
Not very smart from their side

Please give the people some slack. They are apparently very busy for all us simmers to get everything in place. Obviously different people are working on different things at the same time. I can imagine, especially with online working that this might lead to ācontinuity issuesā.

I agree with you but someone at REX should certainly put ādonāt push web site updates until update is liveā on the general release checklist for the future, donāt you think?

So, I take it the update wonāt go live today?
probably not. but i did figure out a way to have it loaded and ready to go in my products on rex axis. you need to add a product, select what store purchased from, then enter your serial and order number. Accuseason advanced will be listed there
.

Maybe that would be a good idea. But still my view is that a lot of people could and should exercise a lot more patience and that without the bucketloads of criticism by all the people on social media, knowing everything better, the world would be a much nicer ans lovelier place to live in.

but keep in mind that Rex has delayed this release for some time (setting expectations that were not met). And even a few weeks ago they geared folk up for an announcement, only to say that they have a presentation to show the upcoming release. And even in that presentation they claimed a release within two weeks. Well, we are beyond that point.
The last communication was about a releaseā¦today.
So, Rex has been around long enough to know that delays are going to cause frustrations, and that updating a site without the product would cause confusion / frustration for a long-awaited update.
While I support Accuseason and purchased Rex for other Sims, I am glad the next iteration of the sim, FS 2024, will have many of these features in the core.

Itās a major problem of all/many companies that they have to generate attention to survive in the world and then often fail to deliver on time. Doing a surprise release may allow more flexibility, but then you donāt have many day 0 sells. Hard to balance.
