RNP08Z at LOWI missing

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Vision jet in career mode arriving from south east to LOWI authorized by ATC with RNPZ 08 but I found Jet RNPV 08. But then checking in free mode at RWY 26 at LOWI also with TBM 930 the procedure there isn’t. I check in free mode in same way, at rwy 26 LOWI, with pmdg 737 and Cessna 172 and I find the procedure. How is possible Cessna 172 ( G1000) has this procedure and Vision Jet and TBM 930 higher class not?

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Vision jet on LOWI RWY 26 search RNPZ 08 approach in Garmin procedure, not found

  2. TBM930 on LOWI RWY 26 search RNPZ 08 approach in Garmin procedure, not found

  3. PMDG 738 on LOWI RWY 26 search RNPZ 08 in CDC approach procedure RW08, found

  4. Cessna 172 on LOWI RWY 26 search RNPZ 08 approach in Garmin procedure, found

YOUR SETTINGS

Navigraph says that is not their fault and to talk to Asobo:

What peripherals are you using, if relevant: not relevant

Based on the description and the planes cited, I would guess this is because the RNP Z approach is “Authorization Required” so if a plane is not approved to fly AR, the avionics should omit it.

Not all planes accurately simulate this. Sometimes a plane not AR approved will still show it.

So, I guess to finish this off properly, the only issue in that list is the C172. It is not AR approved, so it shouldn’t show that approach.

Well, and ATC should know that, but in MSFS, ATC is not very good.

Might want to see my comments on his post about RNAV 26 AR showing up too (it’s also labeled rwy08). Looks like there’s an issue with this approach in the 172 for some reason.
Regards

I believe that Working Title (who build the avionics for the default aircraft) filter out RNP AR approaches that an aircraft is not suited to fly.

And, Career Mode ATC probably shouldn’t authorize an approach not suited for an aircraft, and that would be on Asobo.

I’m not sure why the RNP AR Approach would show up in the C172 - it’s probably not supposed to, are you sure it’s not the RNP Visual Approach ?

Yes. Back in the AAU days of MSFS2020, Working Title fixed a few of the planes that were incorrectly allowing AR approaches (like the G3000 in the TBM) but not all Garmin’s were fixed. The C172 wasn’t addressed if I remember correctly.

Most of the posts from back then after the fixes were “Hey you broke the TBM!” when in reality it was incorrect in the first place.

RNP 08 Zulu is indeed AR only. So GA aircraft typically would not be allowed to fly this approach.

It seems like this is another one of those long standing bugs (G1000 GA planes incorrectly allowing AR approaches) that’s never gotten a proper bug report written up… :smiling_face_with_tear:

Thak you for explanation. So I understand not even the 172 ( and all G1000 GA ) should be possible to see and to use the RNP08Z approach to LOWI. The problem is in the 172 ( or G1000 GA) . I hope solve this issue.

Thank you very much indeed

NOTE: I check in the diamond DA62 founding the RNP08Z.

OK, I fixed this. Here is a bug report, open for voting (not open for only complaining!).
