ISSUE DESCRIPTION

The roll and slip pointer on the Honeywell Avionics on Pilatus PC 12 and PC 24 goes in the wrong diraction. If you bank your aircraft on the right the pointer should be on the right, if you bank it on the left it should be on the left.
On the Honeywell Avionics it is the opposite.

If applicable, which aircraft is experiencing this issue:

Pilatus PC12
Pilatus PC24

•it looks to me more like that is a turn rate indicator. Look at the thing below that I highlighted in green, in the image below. That seems to have a marker to the right, which would indicate right rudder is needed.

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

Looking at the honeywell video below it seems the representation is actually correct.

But I’m a bit puzzled as it is super counter-intuitive and it is the exact opposite of any other avionics I know (check the G1000 / G3000 / G5000 PFD or some old instrument the indicator always go the way the aircraft bank)

It’s weird this is not standard, not sure why Honeywell decide to go this way.

Yes it is SUPER confusing and 100% accurate.

Yes but indeed “it is not a bug it’s a feature” (c) so I stand corrected.

It seems you are not aware of the different roll display types. This exact same query was raised about the Longitude. See here.

Thanks Sling380 I wasn’t aware there were two different roll pointer type.

I find it weird it is not standard (whatever the type) given it important information for the pilot. In my case I can imagine that in IMC condition with a bit of spatial disorientation I could easily bank the plane even further rather having it straight and level as I’m used to the fix pointer type.

If you read through the Longitude thread I linked you’ll see I mentioned in there that they did a study into this and the outcome was as you suggested that the majority of pilots found it easier with the type you prefer. Generally smaller GA tends to use that one but moving to the bigger jets they use the other.
