Hello, I play on xbox series x. I used to have a rolling cache at 8gb, then moved to 10gb and eventually 32gb. I tried to remove it a couple of times but it seems like my saved datas on my xbox ssd still have the rolling cache, as I have 82gb of game datas (I downloaded the world uptades, but no add-ons so it seems a big amount of data, almost as much as the game itself !).
Then I removed my game datas (back to 16gb), I set up a 8gb rolling cache, but when I remove it, the game datas stay the same again. My fear is that everytime I remove the cache, the game datas keep increasing…
Would someone have an explanation to that ?
Thank you.
I see the same thing. It adds it never deletes even if you try. The sorage just keeps adding on the SSD and can be seen when looking at the game info on xsx
Thank you for your answer, so it must be a bug. Maybe I should send a ticket… For now I just set up no cache.
Hopefully, I am submitting this under the correct forum and sub-forum. Sorry, I deleted the standard format of questions as I simply want to report the space releasing issue with MSFS '20:
When I delete the rolling cache file, the game will not give me back the space saved. So, I deleted the 64 GB file, e.g., and it is still occupying that space on my Xbox.
I remember this being an issue last year as well and discussed regularly with people having similar complaints.
I’ve tried everything including multiple restarts and hard resetting the console. I don’t think this is an Xbox or console issue, but the game itself failing to release the space once the rolling cache file is deleted.
Somebody please escalate this so I can get me that sweet disk space back!
I’ve never checked my space after deleting add-ons as those are not that large anyway, but to delete a 64 GB rolling cache file and the game still not giving me back that space is a major issue. I think it was resolved sometime last year but most likely not fully, as my game did release the space last year; but now it simply refuses to free up that space.
