No, I’m not aware of this issue. I can’t check at the moment as my MSFS installation isn’t updated and on my home connection, with everyone else working from home thanks to Lockdown 3.0 I can’t kick off the download otherwise it’ll cause them issues!
I can’t honestly remember what the method was for switching the digits that you adjust with the ADF - is it the small and large dial on the panel that adjust different digits or do you toggle the digits that you adjust using the ACT/STBY switch?
On the default C152 which has only one active ADF frequency and no stand-by, the inner knob changes the decimals and the outer know changes the units. The ACT/STBY toggles active to stand-by which make no sense for this aircraft.
I would expect the button to switch the selections to the two other digits.
With planes with both active and stand-by frequencies maybe a long press of the ACT/STBY button could switch the two while a short press switch what digits are controlled by the dials?
Hello. Let’s see if someone can help me. every time i started the sim closes and i go back to the desktop and all the panels freeze I unplug USB from all the panels and started the SIM and if it works … now I connect everything again and it goes to the desktop again. anyone have any ideas. Thanks a lot.
Are your Saitek panels connected to a powered hub?
Are your Saitek panels installed and recognized by Windows in Devices and Printers?
Have you installed the Logitech drivers suggested by Tr1cky.?
All panels should be connected when starting the sim.
Start with nothing in Community folder and delete the Cache in Data menu in the General section of Options
Hope this help
Hello,
As I can not find any solution to my problem I will try Spad.Next. The Msfs help site did not want to give me any help and without a response from Logitech, I just have to deal with it on my own.
Thanks for your advices.
That’s right as I understand it. I have three panels, all connected to a 10 port USB 3 powered hub, and they work fine with SPAD.NeXT as long as I have disabled the Windows 10 Enhanced Power Management for them. There is a separate program for doing this, but SPAD will also detect any panels that currently have this on, and will offer to turn it off for you as long as you re-run it elevated.
If you don’t have that option disabled, what I found was the multi-panel would be showing its backlight but no display, and the buttons did nothing. This was the same with X-Plane. On my hub I have separate power switches for each port, so power cycling it would bring it back. What would also work would be only firing the panels up just as I was launching the sim. Wait too long, and they go to sleep.
My understanding is that the Saitek FIP devices require a USB 2 port, but I don’t own any of those so can’t confirm whether that is true or not.
Hello Thanks for the answer. This is everything as you describe the only thing that I have not tried is to delete the cache I will try like this to see. Before everything worked very perfect I have formatted and now it does not work.
Reformatting is never good, you may have erased stuff from Microsoft you have no idea, if things keep failing,my advice would be to uninstall the sim, and start from the very beguining, reinstall your license, the Xbox related files, etc, then the MSFS2020 software, if you have a second drive, choose a dir like D:/MSFS2020 or MSFS, that will make to see your Community and Other Files very easy, which is the bulk of the 100+ Gb of the installation. The rest will be in C:/users/…you know the rest. Make sure your PC is up-to-date, and if you have other games installed, well, sometimes that is a source of problem. I have my pc dedicated to 2 sims, X-Plane and MSFS2020, with 2 drives as I showed you, (X-Plane does not even use the register, just its own folder) I have never had any problems with updates, CTD, stutters, etc., just the problems with the Asobo software not behaving the way is supposed to. That is the best I can come up with in view of such problem you are having, maybe somebody else may come up with a different approach.
If everything is installed from scratch.
Updated all GPU and Windows 10 Drivers and still gives me that problem. How can I erase all possible configuration of MSFS2020 and start from scratch …?
using the logitech software doesnt work for ■■■■, i have installed, uninstalled multiple times and found the Spad.neXt works with zero flaws and allows massive customisation.
I have used it from the beginning, and I have no issues with it, all my panel works every time, I had to unbind the switches in the Honeycomb Yoke panel to get the Multipanel and Radio panel changing digits in a normal manner, but they connect every time, they also test OK with the software provided by Logitech. MSFS loads the drivers every time with no issues for me, maybe it’s something to do with the Spad software. I would not put that stuff in my PC, maybe they want the drivers to fail, so they can sell you their stuff, just a thought. Unless you totally remove SPAD you will never know. You would also have to remove every entry in the Register to be accurate. I installed it once, I was not impressed, so I removed it as I mentioned before. I use special software to clean the register it searches for every entry of your search and remove it all with one shot, just to make a case, MSFS adds more than 400 entries to your register
Thanks. Can you explain in greater detail how you performed the unbinding process?
I have the Saitek yoke, Saitek multi panel, and Saitek switch panel with Logitech plug in installed and I get Alt moving in 1000 increments instead of the normal 100. I am trying to fly the Cessna citation.
If there is something I can do with the yoke key bindings that will fix this without completely disabling my yoke, I’d love to have detailed instructions.
I have to say that everything from saitek had always worked perfectly with MSFS2020 until now, I don’t know if it will be because of the extra power supply that I put in for all the other panels. Can someone tell me what power they need in case I have it wrongly configured example 5v 300mah thanks
Good morning. Does anyone know how to enable avionic switch on A32nx by FlyByWire, so I can use my saitek autopilot multi panel on a cold and dark startup?
Thank you in advance for your replies.
The power supply adapter that came with my Saitek Yoke was Input 100-240 V 50/60 Hz 0.4 A Output 5V 2000 mA 10W.
This provided the power required for the Yoke and 3 Saitek Panels connected to the Yoke and one single connection USB 2.0 to the PC.
At the time I replaced the Yoke , MSFS2020 was not out yet, with the Alpha Honeycomb Yoke, the difference in handling the plane was like night and day in X-Plane 11, so I never tried the Saitek Yoke in MSFS. I only undid the binding in the Alpha, and you coul try to unbind the switches in the Yoke in Options under Saitek Yoke plus a modifier create a new layout.
USB 2 or USB 3 does not make a difference. If you have any other software that tries to drive these devices, you may have a problem, maybe, like I said before my system is clean of other software.
I use FSUIPC7 to run Plan G and GlassCockpit in my tablet, Littlenav Map , for IFR flights, they have most of what I need. Now I use FSXMap.com in the browser for VFR flights that is it.
I also use a USB Saitek throttle controller, and an Xbox controller mounted on the Yoke. I also have MFG Pedals, they are great, they made a lot of difference when landing and taking off with tail draggers, something I couldn’t do very well with Saitek pedals, which they totally failed after 3 years, the small panel inside failed, the truth is they are not very good quality. I’m beguining to have second thoughts on the Bravo Throttle, I don’t fly heavies, just GA Jets and props. I am enjoying the simm, and hoping patiently for Asobo to fix what is not working yet, it’s a big task with a lot of ramifications, thank you for listening.
The MSFS plugin prior to this was working just fine, with the two radio issues being the exception. I tried to install the 8.0.313, and now nothing works. I saw there were some files to check. Can someone please post a detailed method for uninstalling the addon? In addition can I get a step by step for removing/installing drivers, checking files, and file paths? [BTY I use teh steam version, but posting the standalone and steam info would be beneficial to all]
I’ve finally had a chance to get the sim updated and have another look. I can confirm that the ADF is working correctly - the inner knob is adjusting the decimals and the outer knob adjusts the units. The way that we interface with SimConnect is to tell it that we want to increment/decrement the unit or decimal value of the ADF and that’s what do. This does mean that if you want to change the frequency by a lot then you’re going to need to turn the knob a lot too.
However, @PIC4506 is saying that they can’t even get single digit adjustment so that’s unusual. Could you make a video and post it, showing what’s happening please? Also, it’s worth confirming which plane you’re testing.
Start the sim, then bring up a command line, navigate to the c:\Program Files\Logitech\Microsoft Flight Simulator Plugin folder then run LogiMicrosoftFlightSimulator.exe -p
This will bring up a splash window that tells you the status of the plug in - it will tell you the plug-in and DirectOutput status. It will also tell you the location of the SimConnect.ini and exe.xml files. If it says both the plug-in and DirectOutput are running then there should be no issue - try unplugging the panels and reconnecting them. If it says that the Plug-in is not running then that’s the issue. In which case try running LogiMicrosoftFlightSimulator.exe -r from the command line and see if that brings the panels up.
Not used to navigating a command line? No problem.
Click Start, type cmd and press return to bring up a command prompt window. It will probably be showing C:\users\yourname.
Type cd. (NOTE it’s actually two full stops needed but this forum always prints three of them if I type two) and press return. Do that again to get it to show C:\
Now type cd press space, then keep pressing the Tab key on your keyboard until you see Program Files, then press return
Type cd and press space again and keep pressing Tab until you see Logitech - press return
Type cd and press space again, keep pressing Tab until you see Microsoft Flight Simulator Plugin - press return
Press Tab until you see LogiMicrosoftFlightSimulator.exe, press space and add -p to the end then press return.
That should give you a splash page showing the details of the plugin status.
Once you close the status you can press the up arrow on your keyboard to repeat the previous command in the command prompt, delete the -p and add -r instead to run the plug-in.
If the plug-in isn’t running then you can use the information from that status window to find where the exe.xml file is installed on your PC for the Steam version. Find it and then show us the contents of that file please.
