Hello,
I have the Saitek Pro Flight Cessna Rudder Pedals which work very well in X-Plane. I tested them as well on Windows 10 doing the device test. Again, worked very well.
When I try to set the pedals up in MSFS 2020 it seems impossible and I think there is a bug in MSFS 2020. I can set up the toe brakes just fine. These use both the X & Y axis. Then there is one axis left which I confirmed the the Saitek manual… the Z axis, which is for the rudder control. So I try to set up the RUDDER AXIS with the JOYSTICK R AXIS Z.
The problem is the rudder does not start off centered. I can press the right pedal all the way and the bar moves all the way to the right. But when I release the bar goes all the way to the left. Technically the bar should stay in the CENTER. AND I tested this in both X-Plane and the Windows 10 Device test…and again in both cases the ball remains centered. When I press on the left pedal nothing happens.
I tried to separate the Rudder Axis and tried Rudder Axis Right and Rudder Axis Left. BUT, as I mentioned, the manual says there are only 3 axis, X,Y, & Z and technically the rudder only has the one axis Z left. So adding using the Rudder Axis would be the only option.
Also, I went to the Saitek website and updated the drivers from the rudder pedals and restarted the computer.
And yes I tried to calibrate it in the settings sensitivity. The center dot remained in the bottom left corner no matter what setting I changed.
I have spent many many hours on this problem, I 'm hoping somebody can help. I don’t want to buy new pedals as the Saitek Pro Flight Cessna Rudder Pedals are top notch and work very well. Just not in MSFS. Right now I have the rudder controlled by the Pilot Assist, however being a real pilot, this is a real drag not being able to use them!
Thanks for any advice.
