January 2025 update:
Season Enhanced for MSFS 2024
if you have a request to make seasons better, it’d be helpful if you did your research, provided some solid evidence to back it up, and were respectful about it.
If your idea is feasible and makes sense, I’d be happy to make it happen, especially if it benefits the whole community. In turn, you can expect a response that reflects the same level of courtesy and consideration.
As I’m working full-time on Seasons and providing free upgrades, it’s only fair to ask for a little help when it comes to researching and presenting your ideas. Thanks for your understanding and support of Seasons!
Below are the main fixes and tweaks I’ve made:
Global:
- Corrected missing or wrong season in Southern hemisphere cities in Australia, New Zealand, South America, and South Africa.
- Added spring blossoms to most cities.
- Replaced excess rural trees with 12 new bush species in various regions.
- Removed trees too close to ocean waters.
- Adjusted fall season duration with leafless trees starting Dec. 1st, depending on latitude.
- Enhanced desert vegetation.
- Added depth and variety to green tree colors.
- Toned down vibrant colors on trees
- Added missing autumn trees with red leaves.
- Introduced banana, date, and coconut trees to select rainforests.
- Added palm and date trees to desert cities.
Regional:
- Enhanced and modified trees in Scandinavian countries.
- Added swamp trees to The Great Dismal Swamp, South Florida, New Orleans, and Louisiana.
- Removed evergreen trees from most seasonal areas, except for pine trees.
- Removed palm trees from select US states and cities; Washington, Maryland, Virginia, North and South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee.
- Replaced most trees to bushes in Iceland (except for trees in cities)
- Removed Giant sequoia trees from higher mountains and updated trees in California.
- Enhanced trees in UK areas, including Scotland’s shores and hills. Added a variety of heather, bushes, and plants that mimic the look of wildflowers, creating a more natural and diverse visual experience.
- Redesigned Los Angeles with native trees.
- Added pine trees to Angeles National Forest in Los Angeles.
- Removed trees from higher elevations in various mountain ranges.
- Removed most trees in Greenland.
- Removed bamboo forests from select Japanese cities.
- Fixed bamboo trees that dropped leaves in winter by default.
- Added more olive trees to Italy, Spain, Turkey, and Greece.
- Adjusted the distribution of Sequoia Giant trees, focusing on specific parks such as Calaveras Big Trees State Park, Tuolumne Grove, Mariposa Grove, Placer County Big Trees Grove, and Sequoia National Park, ensuring a more realistic and accurate representation of these majestic trees within their natural habitats.
- Added Shunan Bamboo Forest in Japan. POI
- Added Black Forest in Germany.
- Introduced fern-like plants to New Zealand.
- Fixed New Zealand’s elevation.
- Added Kaingaroa pine forest in New Zealand.
- Corrected tree types in Queenstown, New Zealand.
- Updated New Zealand’s desert areas.
- Removed leftover trees from Antarctica and Arctic regions.
- Added deciduous trees to Northeast USA.
- Removed pine forests from parts of Texas.
- Updated trees in Iran.
- Updated trees Cyprus and Greek Islands.
- Removed trees from Svalbard Islands.
- Removed trees from Faroe Islands.
- Added conifer trees to Minneapolis, MN.
- Updated Catalina island trees.
- Enhanced Birch Forest and reduced pine trees in Northern Norway.
- Added Larch trees to the Alps.
- Introduced Cypress trees to Montichiello, Italy. (From trailer).
- Updated Caribbean islands.
- Removed water and trees from dried-up Iranian lakes.
- Corrected seasonal trees in the Dominican Republic.
- Removed non-pine evergreen trees from Michigan.
- California Shores Update: I’ve brought the Golden State’s coastline to life by removing photogrammetry from shores and adding realistic vegetation along 650 miles of shoreline from San Diego to San Francisco, complete with palm trees, bushes, and vibrant flowers (Malibu and Seaside, CA), creating a more lifelike experience.
- Removed trees and bushes from Wind farms over ocean between England and France.
- Las Vegas strip palm trees added.
- San Francisco’s waterfront trees have been updated, with tree palm trees and sizes in parks reduced for better visibility.
- Reduced the number of trees in farms across many farms in Philippines.
- Palm trees added along the roads in Key West, Florida.
- Sugar Cane plantations added in Ayr, Mackay, Proserpine , Ingham and Cairns, Australia.
- Banana plantation added in St. Lucia. Marigot Bay.
- Added Dongjiao Coconut Plantation in Sanya, China.
- Added terrain mask and Banana plantation in Sri Lanka.
- Added palm trees in Marina Del Rey.
Terrain Masks:
- Applied terrain color corrections to:
- Europe, restoring natural tones
- Hawaii, Sierra Nevada forests, northern California coast, western Oregon, Washington state, and Canada’s west coast. Changing bluish grass to natural green
- Implemented terrain masks to:
- Australian desert, reducing saturated red colors
- Tasmania, adding more natural colors to terrains
Giant trees:
- Giant trees removed from downtown Toronto, Vancouver and Tokyo.
Airports:
- Various airports in Iran.
- EBTX airport.
- Fixed incorrect trees at Milford Sound airport.
- Big tree removed from MKEW airport.
- Trees removed from runway URRP, CYNH, BGGH, BGKK, BGBW.
Photogrammetry:
- Removed most photogrammetry trees from Vancouver.
- Removed spiky photogrammetry from mountains in Bilbao, Spain.
- Removed spiky photogrammetry from mountains in Wellington, New Zealand.
- Removed spiky photogrammetry from Bilbao, Spain.
- Los Angeles - Removed photogrammetry in San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita, parts of Santa Monica and Santa Monica mountains and Hollywood hills.6. Removed photogrammetry from Carson, NV.
- Removed most photogrammetry trees from Chicago.
- Removed photogrammetry trees around EDDL airport in Duesseldorf, Germany.
- Removed most photogrammetry trees from Wellington mountains in Tasmania.
- Bern - Most of photogrammetry trees have been removed, primarily from forests, parks, and open areas.
- Stockholm - Most of photogrammetry trees have been removed, primarily from forests, parks, and open areas.
- Photogrammetry trees removed from most of Zurich hills and forest and mountains.
- Removed most of the photogrammetry trees from Berlin.
- Removed most of the photogrammetry Buffalo , New York.
- PG trees removed around Flugplatz Freiburg, Germany - EDTF
- PG trees removed around Stuttgart, Germany - EDDS
- Removed Photogrammetry trees from parks and forest areas from Copenhagen to Helsingør.
- Fixed photogrammetry in EKGH airport.
- Removed photogrammetry trees from Norfolk’s airport areas (KORF).
- Removed photogrammetry trees in Nuremberg
- San Diego photogrammetry cleaned-up around airport and downtown.
