Thanks for a great product - and the regular updates! A must-have for FS24.
Would you consider a PG tree clean up for Minneapolis - esp. approaches to KMSP? Either as part of the season product or a stand-alone city product (like Vancouver). FB’s KMSP is a great airport, but the PG trees on approach (esp. rwys 12) are horrible…
In the tropical rainforest, however, a lot more of undergrowth (preferably smaller trees which have a higher LOD range than bushes and the ususal tropical weeds) would be more realistic. As it is now (screenshot from Gamba at the west coast of Gabon), it looks more like a plantation where you can see through between the trunks.
I observed this in the whole tropical zone of Africa, and likewise South America.
Hello Bijan. Around Tyler, Texas, USA in particular there are lots of palm trees in the default scenery. There should not be palm trees within hundreds of miles. Would you be able to look around East Texas area to make sure we have our loblolly, shortleaf, and longleaf pines, along with various hardwoods like oaks and hickories? Or at the very least no palm trees, lol.
In the MSFS2020 I used rex accuseasons. I think that rex accuseasons does not work in MSFS2024 because this sim has own seasons. Is this addon any necessary when MSFS2024 is far superior when it comes to ground textures, trees, grass etc. and also it has seasons?
Accuseason is completely useless in 2024 as the game already has seasons. Bijan is useful because it cleans up trees in addition to providing more variations of colors on trees. Seasons Enhanced does exactly that. It works with and enhances the 2024 system.
Hi Bijan, I love the colors of trees in autumn and am wondering how to make them even more realistic: Is it technically possible to create mixed-color trees? Especially at the beginning of autumn, many non-freestanding trees are initially orange/red on top and still green underneath. Just a thought, thanks!
I live in Switzerland and think it would look fantastic if maybe half of the tree species in Central Europe that lose their leaves in winter were multicolored in autumn. The crowns would be yellow/orange, and further down they’d still be green. It would bring more variety to the forests. Of course, only if that’s possible; you’re the specialist. Like this:
I saw a lot of the same around Seattle over the past couple of weeks and it got me wondering if this coloration was possible as well. Not a gripe - I think it’s great as-is, but wondering how much fidelity is possible during the seasonal change.
Here’s an interesting fall foliage map you can play with, showing the seasonal change in the US. Granted, this is a really specific look, some of which might already be accounted for in the product. Of course, fall coloration is going to lead where it’s been colder - higher elevations, more northerly latitudes, continental vs maritime climates, etc. And it’s going to be slightly different every year (current year is mostly an estimate based on conditions and some reports).
Obviously, fidelity such as that is a big ask, but I’m more curious as to how much can/should be implemented; what is possible rather than what is reasonable.
Quick question about buying and installing this product. Being unskilled at computer work, is there a guide to proper installation? And I see on the first post, two possible purchase spots, is there a preference? Is it available on the in sim marketplace? Looking at enhancing 2024. I have not flown it since January, and it was disappointing around Darwin Australia. Our Christmas period is tropical wet season and the sim was showing brown desert, when it should be green.
Note that in Australia, ground textures do not appear to change at all based on seasons, as Bijan noted back in October 2024 when testing the alpha build. This still is the case around Darwin on SU4 v1.6.15.0.
Thanks. By ground textures does that mean the grass? Because we only have 2 seasons and from now to April we go from dead grass, except at suburban lawns and irrigated farm land, to lush green 2m high grass.
Bijan adjusts/changes the trees, in sim, to what is appropriate “foliage” for the different regions/countries of the world {and I’m so glad he does, Newfoundland looked soo wrong with the default trees}. What he doesn’t do is change the satellite images that are fed into the Sim through Asobo. So even though seasons come and go… the satellite image may not change. Brown or green grass as an example, is dependent on conditions/season at the time the Sat. image was originally created. Hope this makes sense or helps. Either case, I recommend Bijans’ add-on wholeheartedly. Greetings from Canada…
