Seasons 2024 Enhanced - By Bijan - Released

I purchased through markerplace.
Will this update come to marketplace in the near future?

Yes, usually within two weeks.

Thank you. :folded_hands:

Honolulu looks fantastic, and so do many other places I’ve tried so far <3 Could you take a look at Bremen/Eddw in Germany? There are a lot of unsightly trees in the city, and the area isn’t that huge. Maybe you could add it to your to-do list. Thank you so much

Just wanted to say thanks for the changes you made to Tentsmuir in 3.4 (which hit the marketplace this week). The difference is incredible!

another beautiful update, Bijan. You da man (a little of my NYC flavor for you). :joy:

I assume the AR is a typo. AR is the abbreviation for Arkansas. AZ is the abbreviation for Arizona.

Thank you! I’m really happy to hear you’re enjoying Honolulu and the other areas

I do plan to clean up the trees around airport areas, so I can take a look at EDDW itself.

When it comes to cities, I’d like to wait and see what Asobo delivers with SU5 in terms of photogrammetry cleanup. If their changes end up being similar to the California City update — mainly replacing sticky palm trees with more rounded ones — then I’ll continue my own city cleanup work as well.

More details about new packages:

New scenery enhancement packages focused on improving airport surroundings with custom-built, region-appropriate buildings that blend naturally into the landscape. The goal is to replace generic and immersion-breaking default structures with more realistic assets that look and feel right during approach and departure. This will most likely be an airport-based package, with more details and previews to come as development continues.

Looking forward to it. Will buy it for sure.

Hello Bijan and folks. This morning, I purchased Season Pack 8.1 in conjunction with Earth FX and copied the winter textures/Earth FX to the community folder. Unfortunately, I don’t see the slightest change in the simulator. Do I need to adjust a setting? (MSFS 2020)

Hello,

Where did you fly when you checked? If the area mainly contains pine trees, you won’t notice much change, as those are evergreen. In heavily photogrammetry-based areas, photogrammetry trees can also hide or limit visible trees.

Please make sure the package is copied to the correct Community folder, that no other tree mods are installed at the same time, and then fully restart the simulator. No additional in-sim settings are required.

If you need further assistant, please email me.

Thank you

I’ve just bought this package and have to say it’s a game changer. The difference is incredible. I’ve always enjoyed low level GA flying and this really increases the immersion. As an introduction I’ve enjoyed the POI’s you’ve put in to showcase particular plants and areas. I’ve enclosed a screenshot of some Pandas enjoying your bamboo in China! Any chance of adding some more POI’s? Great work, thanks.

I’m happy you noticed and enjoyed the POIs as well — and the panda screenshot sounds fantastic :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
I do hope to add more if time permits in the near future.

Great to see the Cypress trees from the MSFS2024 opening credits. look great with a herd of cattle!

Wow, Bijan. It looks like you’re tackling one of the biggest weaknesses of MSFS when it comes to scenery representation. As far as I know, Microsoft/Asobo ended their partnership with Blackshark.AI after World Update 5 (June 2021). Since then, nothing has changed in the design of the autogen buildings. Apparently, there are copyright issues involved.

But - don’t you think it’s a bit of a futile effort to manually fix this deficit now? Shouldn’t we all come together to persuade Microsoft to enhance the SDK so that third-party developers can modify, expand, and improve autogen buildings? That way, your excellent work with the new assets wouldn’t be limited to just a small area around the airports. But I guess it’s hopeless; or is it?

This may not be possible since my understanding is that these new building updates will be airport based. However, I would love if grain elevators were given proper treatment by the autogen scenery. I know out here on the High Plains of the US that these are often the tallest buildings in towns and are used as vfr references.

Thanks for the thoughtful comment — I agree this is one of the long-standing weak points of MSFS, and better SDK access for autogen would be the ideal solution.

It’s also worth noting that even if Asobo improves autogen in the future, it will still be procedural and auto-generated. My work is different: these are hand-made assets that closely match what the real buildings and houses actually look like, not generic estimates.

I fully support pushing Microsoft to improve the SDK, but those changes usually take a long time. Until then, I’m focused on using the existing tools to deliver visible, real-world improvements people can enjoy today :slightly_smiling_face:

We’ll see what happens in the long run. Until then I’m looking forward to your new project!

I’ve already had two crashes on the following route with the Fenix:

i will check that without seasons enhanced… never had a ctd in fs2024
