Seems like ALL helicopters are now bouncing around

See bug report:

Same issue here, and it caused my purchased helicopter to crash, before I could even click on “Ready to Fly” - Gone. It was bouncing around in the pre-mission screen that gives the details. This happened to me a couple days after launch, and seemed to have disappeared, however, now it seems to happen all the time, with almost every search and rescue with helicopter, some agricultural helicopter missions, and almost every single company helicopter mission. I’m afraid of trying out the new helicopter I grinded for…

If that issue is related to missions then see existing report:

Any news/changes in it? My FS started do bouncing heli today, I also see that planes tries to do the same? Do we know when it will be fixed? it makes my career a mess…

same issue here

Just to add a bit, I have been flying FS24 since day 1. Last night I was flying the H160 around. During the flight I paused everything for a pit stop, came back and un-paused, and immediately the helicopter was bouncing up and down, in the air. Sort of stationary. It would not respond to controls, and I had to use Task Manager to kill the FS24 session. Hmmmm… Go before the flight!

Same issue is happening to me.. Went to load a freelance mission and bounced around and crashed heli before I could hit the start flight button. Now I can’t fly the G2 heli anywhere even free flight, it bounces or lands upside down.. Other it seems other helis not affected. Just occurred today for the first time 12/21. Now my career mode is broken lost my reputation for no reason and can’t do freelance

Yep same here just destroyed my reputation (as if I need any help with that)

Same here for me. Ive seen it intermittently in career mode but today all helis are jumping in career or freeflight. All helis including 3rd party.

Ok I’ve narrowed it down a bit on the causes of the bug.

It’s related to using VR

It’s also related to profile bugs (load different aircraft and your controls profile goes missing)

I tried to get past the bouncing helicopter bug by loading in flat screen then going to VR… I got in but my controls were gone. Couldn’t walk..

I put the proper profile that never goes as default no matter how hard I try and delete others. Go back in game and the heli goes bouncing away.

Try to play the game on flat screen and sometimes it still bounces… But I’m pretty sure it’s related to VR / Profiles

Go free flight. Change time acceleration. Alt + R + plus /minus..go back in career.

It has nothing to do with VR - I tried with and without.
It’s just that currently every owner of MSFS 2024 - at least those that yet didn’t give up - is “trying to enjoy” their x-mas vacation and is playing the game, i.e. a huge amount of server requests - and that’s the big issue as MSFS is requesting data from the servers already while initiating a mission…

As soon as it’s collecting data from the servers, it’s currently struggling. Just start a mission in the air and hit Esc or Pause. You’ll notice tremendous stuttering which then results again in non properly resolving the physics model, only difference then is - being airborne - you won’t immediately crash into the ground or hit a building.

What I meant with Esc or Pause. Once you return from the menu / Active Pause, the server immediately is requested to send data, since it - or the infrastructure behind - is heavily overloaded you’ll get as result the stuttering before the game continues in a normal way.

so is their any response from the developers? Super sad this is killing my drive to play anymore. money gone, rep gone. I hope they can give everyone a boost of rep and in game cash to make up for it. this major sucks

Ok, I guess I finally found the reason for the bouncing…
Check your keybinds in the control section.
Delete all your keyboard assignments for any collective/throttle control. If you did so, check again if they’re not reassigned from an initial cloud save.

I have this issue as well, and it’s slightly different than the one people in this thread are talking about. This thread seems to be more about bouncing in the hangar or immediately at start of mission causing flipping or a crash. The issue you describe (that I also have) is the helicopter becoming “bouncy” in the air after pausing the game. I started a bug report here if you want to post your findings on the H160 as well. I will try that out to see if it happens there too.

Trust me. It s a problem with sim rate. Change it in helicopter freeflight. Then alt f4 restart. It works for me twice!

I have the same issue too.

Thanks, works for me too

Might have been true in your case, I as a sample don’t accelerate the sim at all and still have the boncing bug.
