I’d like to add something to this conversation.
Let me start of by saying that I can relate to the feelings of disappointment about some parts of the sim not being/feeling ‘done’.
It might have been a better first experience if it was a little bit more ‘polished’ and with less turbulence ;).
For me personally it’s forgiveable since it still delivers so much. It’s a masterpiece and it’s not finished..
In a recent interview with Jörg Neumann there is a bit of talk about the community improving the sim. He can’t really say much about it yet but he hopes he can in a few months. It involves a way to improve the world as a community but without having to individually download it as an add-on. He also talks a bit about the world updates and what they are going to be. It’s very possible that the whole Alaska region is going to be covered in one of these updates.
It’s a work in progress… they are working on core elements and bug fixes as a priority to make the ‘base’ of the sim better. I think they are really close. From what I understand they are going to release these world updates every 3 to 4 months. There are plenty of really beautiful area’s to explore in the meantime. And I also really hope that region is going to be improved, as well as many others.
