Several planes: Free flight ignores co-pilot need

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:

Some planes are typically flown by two pilots. Others are usually flown by one. The carreer mode does respect this. E.g. the cessna c172 is flown alone, the Cessna citation longitude is flown by two.

But in Free flight you get a co pilot in the c172 - but no co pilot in the citation longitude. This is not logical. This should be fixed for immersion reason.

I guess the amount of pilots/copilots for carreermode and free flight is defined in the plane files? That’s why i posted in this subforum.

Please Mods, move the topic to the most suitable place.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?

Always

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Compare presence of copilot in freeflight and careermode for several planes (e.g. the longitude should have a copilot in freemode as in career. In the c172 a copilot is rather optional)

  2. This affects serveral planes.

YOUR SETTINGS

PS 5

Cannot replicate in free flight (SU5 Beta, ms-store):

Have you added a weight in the EFB ?

SU4, PS5 here…. So I need to add the weight to the co pilot seat and then the copilot will spawn?

Correct. The 2 conditions for the co-pilot to appear are: 1.define a co-pilot avatar in your profile, 2. add a co-pilot weight in the EFB. Hope it will work.

Ah, okay… I will try that and then report back as soon as possible. Hopefully this week.

As I see your screenshot. Do I need to add my own weight (pilot) as well?

Moved to User Support Hub since cannot replicate at that point.

Good question indeed. I was wondering the same since there is always at least a pilot in the aircraft and usually upon spawning pilot weight is zero. Pilot weight should be setup by default. So I guess yes, you could add a weight to get aircraft correctly loaded.
What’s weird is that even if pilot weight is set to zero, avatar can be seen from external view:

But from internal view, weight or no weight setup, pilot avatar is not displayed when seen from co-pilot view:

I observed the following:

Some planes in free flight do require to setup the weight of a co pilot in order to spawn it (longitude for example), others don’t (e.g. the talon jet - your copilot is in the back, even if the efb was setup with 0 lbs). This does not seem to follow any logic.

Also: I set up the longitude before flight with copilot and 8 passengers and saved the configuration. When I loaded into the flight only the copilot was present. I requested boarding, and the bus spawned. No one entered the plane and the passenger cabin stayed empty. I opened my efb and saw: My weight setup only used pilot and copilot weight and set all other passenger weights to zero.

Passengers/avatars implementation can be different across aircraft and still suffers some issues.

If you setup again passenger weight, did the boarding resumed ?
Also, how is set you passenger quality ?. See this report: Setting character quality to low = no passenger

Pessenger quality to medium (maximum on ps5). They spawned after i reentered their weights in the efb while being in the mission.

My pre-flight set values should not be reset by the game.

Agree but wasn’t able to replicate (SU5 Beta, ms-store):

Did you click on “Save Config” ?

Of course I clicked save. This was my first thought. But unfortunately it was ignored.
