I even landed the goose in the harbor, realized I had PG on, turned it off in game and was able to take off and keep on going, which would usually ‘crush’ the game even in SU8? Although the boats don’t look as good with the stupid LOD issues SU9 added. I don’t run the NXi though, not that you’d ever need it there. I have textures and trees too and I know the Kodiak/Goose/Islander/172/NX all worked there for me, and flew the Bonanza in from Puerto Rico at night without a crash. 4k 60HZ VRR yada yada.
I see in their ‘schedule’ they have ‘reflections flickering’ as ‘fixed in SU9 Hotfix’, but nothing else. Just a bunch of stuff that’s not been freshly broken by them .
Ummm no idea what it happened i have no problem with offline mode with the world map odd
A bit off topic, by how does one have $4000 in add-ons?? ![]()
Do you buy every payware airport and airplane that’s ever released??
It seems like that would be a simple thing to implement. Just have a multiplier, say 0x for no thermals turbulence (or turn it off completely), up to however many x. I think it was Seb who said in the last Q&A that they should have a switch to turn it off.
I like my world as detailed as possible. So for example, this weekend I’m going to do a bush trip of Corsica. So I bought Figari, Propriano, Calvi St Catherine, Ajaccio.
For Alaska and Hawaii, I have every airport, landmark package, I’ve bought the coastline cleanups, DEM, waterways, night lighting, etc. So yes, besides buying the planes, I detail whatever area I am going to be flying in. I spend about $100 to $200 a week on addons. It’s pretty easy to get $4000, and I probably only have about 15% of the addons that are currently out there.
Microsoft fix your stuff asap, people are quitting playing this game now. Do something about it or you’ll lose your entire (xbox) player base.
And if anyone from Asobo/MS is listening - why don’t you go out, buy yourself ad Xbox X and an Xbox S and try playing MSFS on them each time you want to release an update - you know, test each release properly - not just guess it will probably be OK?
Is that too difficult for you?
Thanks.
I’m guessing most of you have already seen this but in csse anyone hasn’t…
That gives the citizen courage, doesn’t it? Persevere. You’ll have ‘deserved’ it. I just have the idea that this will happen to you (and all of us) more often. Why? Long story.. Keep looking at the bright side!
Thanks
I’m having same problem on xbox series x. Clouds popping in… stuttering when flying over cities landing…. Flickering at night…. Mouse pointer freezing and crashing…. I given up on su9….. supposed to add stability… ha
Turbulence should definitely be a setting that is user-controllable. However, like I said earlier from my experience as a sailplane pilot (and having flown numerous powered aircraft as well), this little bit of convective turbulence they’ve added is actually far milder most of the time than real world turbulence. I would say it’s currently roughly equivalent to “light” turbulence. Moderate to severe turbulence would curl your hair. When actual turbulence is anything beyond light, and certainly toward the upper range of moderate, it gets tough to tune radios or adjust instruments because your hand is bouncing all over the place. I don’t see anything like that in the sim at this point.
You know try to play some msfs on the toilet while you’re there, there is no difference between that and what drops in the toilet.
your xbox is going to explode
i have stoped since the moment SU9 came out…i miss fly but not with this situation
Just had a short flight and yes still getting the hit/miss on the world map but was able to get into the air. And surprised in that it went smooth not much stuttering etc. Still got that graphic flickering on windscreen but was even able to land with out a hitch.
Priorities
I could easily buy add-ons for 1k / month.
And would still be able to pay my real bills.
If some decides to put his money into one hobby why shouldn’t he?
Me too. Just done 2x A320 flights. No CTD so far.
Still having some stuttering both in the air and on the ground (worse on the ground).
ILS landings are still hit and miss with the points on the MCDU disappearing at times.
VRF map worked ok.
Still some lag in moving the cursor and map in the planning screen.
The 4 selection windows on the home screen still load slowly and in stages.
Anybody seeing any actual positive changes yet?
Do I really need your permission on what to spend each week?
I’m over 55 years old. Worked for the same company for the last 29 years. I own my house. I put 16% away each week into my 401k. It’s not even a significant share of my weekly take home. This is my hobby. But frankly, I shouldn’t have to justify myself to anyone. Am I asking you any questions about your financial situation? I only brought up the size of my collection because someone was trying to tell me I wouldn’t notice what the download behavior was prior to SU9. With the size of my collection, I am very familiar with the download behavior. And I’m suggesting looking at that change as a way to help people who are having issues. I’m not. But I’m trying to be part of the community by helping. That shouldn’t open me up to now people judging just what I should be doing with MSFS each week, or judging me.
Ah it’s ok man, so far this week I’ve been told I’ve been tweaking my system too much, I have too many add ons and I should apply for a job at Asobo to fix things I’m unhappy with.
I was on Xbox last year but now on pc and I’m flabbergasted by the recent updates. Fortunately I can load a flight and get through a short one at least but the performance has dipped dramatically.
After losing my entire setup to corrupt game files and after spending the best part of a week or so reinstalling after the Iberia update and su8 I had to start from scratch. And that was after o had it running beautifully.
I spent ages tweaking my set up to get Renton, and UUEE to run properly at 35-45 FPS. I had to lose some settings but was in general happy with the look and feel.
After SU9 I’m back to square one. My settings now produce 21fps at these places which means I need to downgrade further to hit that target. At this rate I’ll be flying over the graphics of msfs 1982.
I’ve also seen multiple glotching, more water tiles, shimmering, pop in and the lord distance has been pulled back further too.
I sympathize with everyone struggling in any way shape or form.
And if add ons are to blame for users difficulty running the sim, asobomicrosoft shouldn’t allow them. As it stands they are apart of the sim and therefore need to be considered with any testing just like they weren’t for the Australia world update which messed up lots of orbx stuff.
