Hey all,
I just built a new PC with a 4080 and 7800x3d. The performance is great! Averaging 70 fps with all settings on ultra. Using a 1440p monitor.
One complaint though is that distant objects, trees especially, have a shimmering/ screen door effect to them.
I am using DLSS in quality mode and DX12. Is there a underlying setting I am missing to get rid of these shimmering textures?
Game mode on / off?
Anything to look for in Nvidia control panel?
Is this just the reality of 1440p?
Thanks
Have you tried the DLSS / DLAA option.
I find this gives the best quality image on my System. The only slight shimmering I see with the DLAA option is when I’m flying the JF piper arrow, I see a little bit of shimmering when looking through the prop.
Game mode on/off won’t make any difference to the visual quality, it just basically stops some Windows background tasks from running when you are playing games.

Hey, we have a few topics regarding this issue which you can take a look at…
How to go around the shimmering on windmills, fine details on instruments etc? LOD settings does nothing to this issue… Do I need to work myself into the NCP - and what to change there? Otherwize Ultra settings.
Good Morning my fellow flight simmers,
I never post or comment anything here but this time I thought that I must share something with you.
After having spent several hours on trying the best possible graphics settings on my PC setup I fell in love and found the best possible FPS and visual quality when using NVIDIAs DLSS mode (as opposed to TAA or any other). Then I tested the different resolutions mode such as Performance, Quality, Balanced…
I was about to switch back to TAA mode since every…
