Sim doesn't start any more after 2024-10-01 update - Remove Navigraph AIRAC Cycle

:triumph: :triumph: :triumph: :triumph: :triumph: :triumph:

Then your issue is nothing to do with this thread, and the issue, it describes, by the sounds of it. But you may be able to delete that bushtrip without the sim launched. I’m not at home to check, but I’m sure its will be a discrete folder. When I do I will attempt to remove that bush trip myself outside of “Content Manager”, then launch the sim to confirm. I’m pretty sure the folder name will be descriptive, and if you search for either “bush” or “trip” in the “Official/Onestore” folder, many should pop up, and one should have the descriptive “Scotland” element in its name.

After this update, I have experienced many crashes on the main interface of the game for no apparent reason.

ah, but there is an apparent reason. MS/Asobo installed an update, which for some reason, tripped up the installation of the Navigraph navdata, whilst at the same time doing something rather odd to the Bush Trip - Scotland package.

There is a workaround, posted at post number 498, so maybe check it out.

I have a suspicion that FS2020 become a testbed for FS2024 long time ago. The quality of recent game and world updates is unbelievable.

November 19th might be “fun” if you’re correct.

Same here and no Navigraph addon installed, even more, I have deleted all Community folder content

If you are starting the sim after a CTD the sim ask if you want to load it in safe mode or not. Select the safe mode than you can go to the content manger after the sim started and delete the bush trip.

I have removed the navigraph and Bush Trip - Scotland as requested. I can get into the game and my flight is executed with no problem. But once I return to the main interface and ignore it for a while, the game will crash.

If this update had been rolled out on the beta channel first, people wouldn’t be screaming for an immediate fix – they’d be able to opt out to the regular channel and go on their merry way until the fix came back to the beta channel.

Please, please, please consider pushing ALL updates through the beta channel for a few days prior to making them mandatory on the regular release channel.

Please, I’m begging you as a paying customer who’s spend at least several hundred dollars, probably well over a thousand, on Marketplace downloads and Premium Deluxe editions, PLEASE TEST YOUR ROLLOUTS.

Great job!

Saw that there was a 3.4KB update to MSFS today on Steam, did that fix this issue or probably something else?

No…just remove that particular file from the world update.

In my case (PC Store version Windows 11) there was no need for all the MSFS finger pointing at Simbrief.
As others have said before, the culprit was the small Bush Scotland file ADDED by MSFS .

Hi,

Looks like that MS/Asobo just released an update to the last update. Downloading now.
Hopefully this will take care of the issue.

Hello folks,

We have just released the monthly navdata update which also includes a fix for this crash.

Thank you to everyone who reported this issue and shared workarounds while our team worked to fully resolve it.

That sounds like a different problem to this one, as this was just preventing people getting to the main menu.

It might be a good idea to see if there are any clues as to what might be causing the issue. A usual route is to remove all addons, by moving the folders out of your community folder and restart MSFS. If it doesn’t CTD again, then you’ll have a fair idea that one of your addons was causing it. After that, it’ll just be a case of adding them back in, 1 at a time, and seeing if the crash recurs. Once you know which one is the culprit, then check it out for updates or check with the developer in question.

Bush trip Scotland working again after the update :v:
