Sim freezes with Connection Warning Message

Yes, it’s not related to the mod but to the way the application shows connection issues.

Brief description of the issue:

Whenever I have a Connection Warning the sim stops working and all hardware (including mouse and keyboard) stop working too. There’s no way to click the message to acknowledge or to go to the option menu.

Detailed steps to reproduce the issue encountered:

It happens randomly when the sim encounters issues with the connection speed. No way to reproduce it from the user because the application does everything on its own: encounter problem with connection, show message, sim freezes.

PC specs and peripheral set up:

AMD 5800X3D, RTX4080, 32 GB Ram, mouse and keyboard

No event shown as the sim has not really crashed but it’s blocked and unresponsive

Build Version # when you first started experiencing this issue:

Yes, problem is related to MSFS user interface.

Brief description of the issue:

“Connection issue” followed by “connection lost” screen. No mouse cursor visible to click on “OK” to close. Sim doesnt respond to any input but keeps running behind CL message. Error message not closable. Esc menu doesnt come up, mouse cursor / view switch key no effect. User forced to close MSFS to get out of this state. Since connection issues are common, MSFS is technically broken that way.

This is not about the connection error itself, it is about a functionality bug in connection with the corresponding warning message. You cannot click “OK” and it brings the sim down.

not exactly…

there are two ( or more ) already existing topics. One for the fact itself that there is a “low connection warning” ( that it happens ) , and some for the different kind of popups which cause in some cases that the user can do anything , in other cases the user must press “ok” otherwise airplane crash, etc…
But at the end, as you mentioned, that topic seems a duplicate report of some of the existing bug reports about that.
Additional there is also a wish-topic too improve how the warning-popup will be shown, improve the impact on the flight, etc. ( network issues can happen, but we not want to crash because of that ).

Is your mouse and keyboard freezing so that you can not dismiss the dialog? If so, this would be a new issue.

Or is it only freezing for aircraft input (controls)? If so, there’s an existing report on this.
