Sim hangs at Quit to Desktop

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:

As per title, attempting to leave the sim properly using the Quit to Desktop causes the sim to hang. The screen freezes with the dialog box open and needs to be shutdown in Task Manager.

Did not occur on launch, introduced with 1.1.9.0

Nothing loaded in community.

Every time.

• I had this issue with 1.1.7.0 and it occurred on every flight.
This morning on 1.1.9.0 the Sim closed cleanly for the first time.

Same here. Need to end the process via task manager

Same here…freezing either when ending a Flight or when trying to quit via “quit to desktop”. Task Manager must be used…happens 9 out of 10

I have the same issue. Freeze/crash when ending a flight or exiting. CPU goes suddenly to 0% utilisation on msfs process, sound continues and interface is frozen. I left it like this for over 1h to see if it shuts down eventually. It didn’t.
Have to end task on almost every exit.

• Nothing extra to add, after clicking “Quit To Desktop” the sim becomes unresponsive, never closes and I have to use task manager to end the process.

MSFS 2024 - CTD - CTD would happen after 30 mins approx. of flying.

I managed to fix my CTD in free-flight mode. I reverted the swap file back in DLSS swapper to 2.4.12.0 - No more crashes.

UPDATE: CTD has returned, even after todays small patch 2/12/2024

Yes, but not every time.

This usually happens when I do not quit immediately after a flight, but leave the game running while I work on something else, such as reading forum posts. When I return to quit, I cannot, so have to kill the app in task manager.

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:
If I do a free flight and choose the option to “end flight”, I am unable to go back up to the main menu to exit the game. I need to use task manager to exit the sim.

If I return to the Main Menu from the flight menu (instead of end flight), I am able to Quit to Desktop.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

Every time

REPRODUCTION STEPS

  1. Start in free flight
  2. Hit escape to go back to the menu
  3. Choose “End Flight”
  4. At this point I am unable to go back any further to the main menu chain. The binding is on my Escape key but it doesn’t do anything.

I’m frequently having the exact same experience on 2 different pcs.
When it gets stuck and you can’t get back to main menu, my workaround has been to just start a new flight and then exit the flight to main menu. Glad to see this reported so it can get fixed.

Same for me.
I’m stuck in that panel after longer flights (2h plus).
I need to kill the process in taskmanager.

Restart the aircraft and then re-shutdown the aircraft when that happens.
It should then end the mission.
Happened a few times so far.

When trying to quit MSFS 2024 going back to the desktop or finish a flight the system does not go back to desktop or the main menu. It freezes. Ending the task in the task manager is the only solution to go back to work again.

Same here, seems to be related to the latest update.
