Sim OFFLINE. Almost 24 hours now!

Restarted the following multiple times:

FS2000
Windows 10
PC hardware
Router
Modem

Have also signed out, signed back in.

Started the game from MSstore.

There is nothing wrong with my internet connection to this PC. I’m writing this email on the same machine, Youtube is streaming perfectly.

SIm is set to online in the DATA options.

Zendesked it. Just got a standard cut and paste reply telling me to do all of the above yet again.

At a total loss as to what to do. It’s been almost 24 hours now.

Any ideas?

Working fine for most people so unlikely to be a widespread issue.

Do you have the Xbox App installed and signed in? Are you using a wired connection or wireless? Are you using PiHole or any other kind of DNS blocker?

Try this.

Which Xbox app?

I sign the sim out and restart it and I see it sign in again - so it kinda must have an internet connection to do that? No? And isn’t that the Xbox sign in.

WHen I search the PC for Xbox I get offereed an Xbox App. I’ve never personally installed that but I have also not uninstalled it, so it must be there if the sim needs it.

I find Xbox on PC all a bit of a mess:

Xbox Game Bar
Xbox Console Companion
Xbox Insider Hub
Xbox Insider Hub (legacy)
Xbox Live

I’ve not fiddled with any of that, so it shouldn’t be broken. They are all installed here.

Dunno what this is about?

No DNS blockers here. Wired connection. Connection working fine otherwise.

Workaround.
Turn on multiplayer and save changes.
You can change your status and server.

Turn off multiplayer and save changes.
You cannot change your status and server.
Status and server greyed out.

Source Online status is always offline and cant change server - #16 by TenPatrol

Where precisely do I do this among the mulittude of Xbox apps and options?

Xbox Game Bar
Xbox Console Companion
Xbox Insider Hub
Xbox Insider Hub (legacy)
Xbox Live

You need the Xbox app for Windows installed and logged in (even if you bought the sim on Steam), then problem solved.

Install the Xbox App, log in and out and it should work.

Which Xbox App? I cannot find anything called explicitly “Xbox App”.

This is what I have on my machine.

Download and install xbox app

Also turn on multiplayer

This app. The one you posted a screenshot of. The one that says “new Xbox app for windows 10”.

If you’re trying to make a point about how Xbox/Microsoft/Gamepass/Windows gaming works or something, I’m afraid I’m not following you.

If you want to solve your problem, download the Xbox App, login and logout a few times.

If that doesn’t work or you don’t get what I mean, I’m out of ideas. Perhaps someone else can help.

So, I have now installedf the Xbox Win10 app and signed in to it.

Restarted sim.

Still locked out.

It’s now showing a server ping time, but I am stil Offline and the option to go online is greyed out and not selectable.

No points being made here mate. Just trying to use my sim, and not able to for a day now.

No worries, try the multiplayer settings and it should work. You’re almost there

So I have to leave multiplayer turned on, whether or not I’m using it? I’m sure that was offf before without any problems.

Back on line now.

Thanks everyone.

Turn on multiplayer only if you want to play with other players or friends.

New feature

You can switch off multiplayer if you want play alone or with real-traffic.

Welcome back to the skies! Have a good flight

Not true here. If I switch off Multiplayer and save the settings, the sim goes back to completely offline again. Completely repeatable.

THANKS!
