If MS and Asobo can crack the a350 loading into Pyreegue Edinburgh and submitting a flight plan, they’ll have solved it all. This is 100% black screen, low memory / avionics shutdown, and CTD territory. Xbox x
If MS and Asobo could perform a flight in the Cessna Citation Longitude from Heathrow to Dubai without any Screen rebooting or re-aligning and stable autothrottle, THEN they made it. Their memory management was already bad in SU4, causing most plane’s avionics going through repeated resets on PS5. Now that we are about this topic and working on it, i want to set the bar to a state, where the game is actually working. This means not a Pre-SU5 state (Su4), but actually working… this means having a really working memorymanagement, that does NOT reset all avionics repeatedly like SU4 did… WE NEED A STABLE RAM MANAGEMENT WITHOUT BLACK/CRASHING/REBOOTING AVIONICS (and their sub-tasks like AP or AT).
I think you’ve definitely hit on the two main things that are causing Low Memory problems on Xbox.
Unoptimised aircraft… so far since SU5 release I’ve flown the following aircraft with no issues thus far - PMDG 737-700, 800, 900, PMDG B777-200LR, Just Flight Bae146 and wonderful F28, FS Reborn M500, the under powered updated MS ATR, FlightFX Citation X (Lite textures) and Hondajet, Simworks Studio Kodiak 100. Inibuilds aircraft have all given me problems with Low Memory warnings launching in free flight.
ATC. Don’t send a flight plan to ATC unless you want problems - this pushes our precious memory reserves over the edge.. luckily the current implementation of ATC isn’t something to miss…
I also think that it’s possible RC size can contribute - the slow read/write speed could cause bottlenecks - so I keep mine as small as possible at 16GB and clear it out once a week…
PS5 PRO PSVR2, beta 1.007.030, Beechcraft Bonanza still experiencing consist reboot of the MFD and loss of PFD altitude and speed systems (fail). The MFD after a few minutes in the air reboot every few seconds. At this point I do not even know if this is a beta memory issues of an aircraft avionics issue. This issue was flagged in the previous beta but I feel it got worse with this aircraft.
All avionics of all aircraft are constantly rebooting for me… this affects glasscockpits like the g1000 (and all others) AND the simple instruments like the engine-o-meter (LED-Thingy) in the DA-40 without glass cockpit… even the most simple avionics reboot, reset or re-align… autothrust (in planes that have it) still disconnects randomly.
Still extremely instable memorymanagement on PS5. Pretty much unflyable still.
I definitely think the EFB and ATC need some serious attention. You only have to bring the ATC panel up and performance starts to drop. It’s always been an issue but seems to be more of an issue since SU5.
My test yesterday clearly shows that the biggest memory problem occurs when you interact with ATC to request clearance.
With an Inibuilds A320 v2 aircraft. At a “heavy” airport, LSZH (Asobo). Having appeared at the terminal without any problems or stuttering.
Having completed the entire cockpit preparation procedure for 30 minutes.
Having used the radio to request the fuel truck.
Having imported the flight plan from the MCDU to the EFB.
Having used the radio to have the passengers board (I saw them walk through the jetway and take their seats).
I sent the flight plan to ATC.
All this without a single stutter!
As soon as I contacted ATC for IFR clearance, bingo!
Low memory, black avionics, CTD.
All that remains is to try the same flight without requesting clearance and see if it works.
I had a similar experience last night. I tried spawning into 3rd party Naples in the PMDG 738, after filing a flight plan to ATC. I didn’t even manage to get into the cockpit before the low memory warnings appeared. Restarted the sim, spawned into the same airport without filing a flight plan and all was fine and I managed to takeoff without issues.
If I was Microsoft, I’d have some meeting with working title and ini’s teams and sincerely try to come to a solution for optimizing at least their default airliners. Those planes, and a couple of add-ons like the Citation X and paid in airliners, probably make up 95% of the WASM memory issues we’re having.
And I’d consider a text-only ATC, so we could skip the horrible AI voices and strain on the systems.
I also find that when I start having issues with CTDs and low memory warnings, I get them more often until I’ve cleared the rolling cache and then things are improved. I’m also convinced that any update of aircraft or add on requires a rolling cache clear. I wish we could turn it off completely as I think it causes a lot of problems. After a few flights now I’ve had to vote frequently for both CTDs and low memory warnings. They are less frequent than the previous build but don’t happen rarely. For that I would have to maybe have one low memory warning every week.
I agree the stability on most aircraft’s are still a joke I still can’t believe mfs24 is still on the PlayStation store with how terrible the issues are such a shame ,still no rolling cache for us which means after 15 minutes of flying or even just spawning in some aircraft’s makes the whole games unplayable ,needs taking off the store in my opinions
We have a rolling cache on PS5. We don’t have the menu to configure it. But even with the game installed on a external ssd the game uses about 30 GB of the ps5’s welded-in ssd. I observed it grow, while i played - until it reached a ceiling niveau of about 30 gb+. So we have rolling cache. But we were not given the options to clear it or to change its size, which is unfortunate.
Even so what do we do when our aircraft’s physically won’t load or work due to memory ,never seem to have this issue on a series s a much less powerful console ,I don’t expect crazy performance but some aircraft’s are physically unusable, they just put new vehicles on the market that don’t work also ,just shows the lack of testing the devs do to just throw out paid content that is broken cough cough 787-10 how can they sell aircraft’s that don’t even work past the start flight ,kinda criminal…
100% agree… We deserve a product, that works… all of the planes we paid must work - not only minutes but full flights, without constantly rebooting etc.. I NEVER paid so much for any Playstation game before. And on playstation we are half a YEAR AFTER FULL RELEASE… not beta, not alpha… we paid full price for a hope of a working sim some day.
I guess we can count the weeks until Sony will enter the ring to protect our customer rights. I just say: Cyberpunk on PS4.
Dear Asobo team: It is up to you, to prevent Sony stepping into the ring. You decided to release a pre-alpha state of the game to catch the christmas season? Alright… Actions have consequences. It is up to you if you get the stuff running by working overtime if needed - or at some point an avalanche of legal actions may happen, because some player will have enough and give his lawyer a call… I just say: Cyberpunk Ps4. It did hard damage to the image of that studio and hit the finances rather hard. You can look up the media’s reviews till today.
Even star citizen is not sold as full price full release… It is labled early access or alpha version. The people know what they buy. We were advertised a complete working release and paid 3-digit-euro prices !
I’ve created a Wishlist item to disable the AI Text-to-Speech ATC and Career mode voices. Please upvote ![]()
Unfortunately I do see Sony pulling the plug on MFS24 for PlayStation ,I would much rather them just fully focus on stability than adding anything else new at this point in time ,the aircraft list from standard to aviator is fine but just like you said half the aircraft’s don’t even work which is mind boggling I have just submitted a request on Sonys PlayStation forum to request a review of the performance on mfs24 because they take no notice on here from what I have seen on the posts. It’s just a shame I have had 10% of the problems on Xbox series s which is about 65% of the performance of a standard ps5 and yet the series s can actually have a full flight from start to finish, I have still yet had a flight no longer than 2 hours on ps5 before its error coded, yes Xbox still has its own problems too but the difference is so far it’s ridiculous,I just loaded in the c17 and the wings didn’t spawn in and then crash error code ,it’s just sad and embarrassing at this point
