After many days of using the sim normally on my Windows 11 pc, now suddenly the app won’t start. I click on the icon and nothing happens. I get a brief appearance of the hourglass, then it goes away and I’m still looking at my desktop. Again, this started suddenly without there being any updates, crashes, etc. I’ve tried rebooting, signing out and back in, nothing. (I’m forced to fly my X-Plane 12 sim!!) I went to the Windows store and in my library, I clicked on the MSFS 2020 game app thinking maybe I could refresh or reinstall. But when I click on it, the screen freezes up. I think this is a clue to what’s wrong. Can anyone suggest what I should do next? Thanks.
How do I check that store apps are current when system locks up when I clck on MSFS app?
Seems to be a problem quite a few of us are having. Exactly the same for me 2 days ago … see the discussion on this thread.
I just want to get in line with all these other folks who’s sims won’t load. It worked fine Wednesday (15 May), then suddenly the next day it won’t start up. This is on a dedicated computer that is not used for anything else. I hope someone out there can figure this out.

Have you tried open the xbox app? It currently often gets logged out for no reason, resulting in MSFS not wanting to start.
I had FS 2020 working perfectly. FS 2024 was a complete ■■■■ show, so I…once again…uninstalled it, as I had done several times before, only THIS time, it uninstalled FS 2020 with it, and now I can’t get it to install. I have heard that there are many users who are so fed up with FS 2024 that they say they are going back to FS 2020. I can’t help but wonder if Microsoft hasn’t installed a bug of its own to prevent the migration back to FS 2020. They may not want to lose their thousands of “beta testers” to help them fix what they created. I’m still working on getting FS 2024 to work the way I want it to. I want my FS 2020 back!
LOL, nope mate.
Download, install, fly safe.
It will download, but will not install. I’m not the only one with this issue.
Install via Xbox app
