Some Kodiak fun. The last airport (2nd picture) had me crash in a tall tree on final.

I have not followed the topic for a while. Is there any news on the float add-on for Kodiak? I know SWS announced it previously, but I am not sure if they talked about any approximate release period.

SWS is releasing a Kodiak update tomorrow.

Steam Gauges? Floats?

No further information was given but you can watch them unveil it tonight on twitch.

SWS has made it clear there won’t be a steam gauge variant. The real plane does not come that way in any fashion, to begin with, and they need to stick to the licenses.

Man, the number of times people basically told me I was imagining this or doing something wrong
so glad it’s finally getting fixed.

Well the very first Kodiak’s were glass but did also have a few, very small, steam gauges over to the left as backup secondary instruments - I doubt that is what people are asking for, but technically the first Kodiak has steam “in a fashion” just not as primary instruments. As you say primary instruments in a Kodiak have always been glass.

I think it basically occurred if you applied flaps with AP engaged.

The Kodiak in game models the flap compensation from the real aircraft, in normal flight if you apply flaps you will see the trim wheel spin and add a bit of nose down trim automatically.

This seemed to get messed up if you applied flaps with AP engaged and looks to m e like it was occurring as a delayed reaction after the AP was disengaged, which clearly was a bug.
