SimWorks Studios announced GA8 Airvan

I think I may have noticed something. Apparently there was an issue with the 2020 version when used in 2024, which would lead to gear collapse, no matter how smoothly you land.

I think I have re-created a scenario where that will occur, and I don’t think its dependent on your vertical speed, but your ground speed.

I’ve had some fairly hard landings when just over 60kts, and didn’t have any gear collapse. I then tried a flaps up landing, and properly greased the landing, where I wasn’t even sure the main gear had touched down till I heard them. As soon as the nose gear came down it collapsed.

Good news for Airvan users across all platforms!

Starting with Airvan for 2024. The next update is already complete on our side, and the Marketplace package is prepared as well. The only items holding back release are a small number of career mode–related issues, which we want to properly resolve before giving the final approval. Aside from that, everything else is in place.

Looking back at MSFS 2020, updates for both the Airvan are already lined up and are expected to be released next week, bringing those versions fully in sync with our latest fixes and improvements.

Too soon for a changelog?

Does this include SystemsPulse for 2024?

No, SystemsPulse for 2024 does not exist yet.

Disappearing luggage: as you can see I have full luggage on the tablet. On the ground this was visible in the back with lots of suitcases and backpacks. However mid-flight I did a cargo check and as you can see in the screenshot…we lost most of it. What’s going on here?

I think for payloads to be visible they need to be loaded via the 2024 sim EFB.

oh, the built in tablet doesn’t work in 2024?

Not for visible models though I do think it impacts weights.

The airvan uses a dual system: ours allows you to select what to load and only allows it on the ground, for realism. It uses our own load models and provides flexibility as weights are semi- random. Ie a stack of boxes can weigh 20kg or 100kg, leading to varying weight distribution for different loads, while you com mix & match loads at will. In 2024 it cannot load people as they seem to be locked to the default EFB.

The second system is MSFS tablet, which uses different stations and default assets. People are Ok, but the other cargo is not as flexible as ours.

For predictable results you should use one or the other.

Is there any progress on that? It’s now almost three months after the official release of SU4.

I’m holding out on buying the Airvan until SystemPulse is available for it.

I’m interested in this too, I’m in the same situation.

Good question. I’m interested in that topic too.

It is partially working. Right now several things and the base architecture work and other failures of the same class don’t. We are finding breakers and fixing every day.

Sounds like typical programming stuff :grimacing: . For what it’s worth, I know what that’s like and I feel that!
