Simworks Studios Vans RV10

I had this problem a couple of weeks ago. I found out I still had the Working Titles Avionics plugins installed from the marketplace, these need to be deleted from your contents ( if you have them installed) after uninstalling these two small plugins everything worked find Xbox X user.

I guess I should have read your full message. Sorry but the info is there just in case anyone else needs to know.

No need to apologise, you might have just found the problem. There might not be any WT mods in my community folder but there are several in my Official folder.

Some of them mention specific planes (SR22, 747, 787) but I also have
Garmin G3000
Garmin G1000 NXI
Garmin GNS 430/530
Working Title G1000 NXI
Working Title GNS430/530
Working Title WT21

Looking at them in the Content Manager the ones in bold have lower minimum sim versions than the ones in italics so I’m going to say they’re old and get rid of them and see if that helps.

Cheers !

Edit : Nailed it, well done ! As soon the plane loaded in I saw I now have a garmin 650 under the MFD instead of a 430, I didn’t know that was even a problem. I took off and turned away from the magenta line, the HSI offset is now on the correct side, and when I pressed NAV the G1000 went into NAV not LEVEL.

Thanks again !

I haven’t had any WT community addons installed for more than a year now. All delivered by MP now, except the G3X of course, unfortunately.

Thank you for the advice. Unfortunately, I don’t have the PMS GTN750. But as long as I understand that the issue is not ā€œjust meā€, I’ll happily continue to fly these birds without the VNAV functionality. (They do have very nice flight characteristics and I love the sound of the RV10!)

I should have mentioned that I’m using Xbox Series X (no community folder access that I’m aware of) with a Thrustmaster T.Flight Full Kit X (with rudder pedals) and a Logitech keyboard/mouse combo.

Apples and oranges, then. I am running the Windows Store Standard PC version.

I was just reading older posts in here since I only recently bought the RV10.
Is this advice still applicable?

Remove anything in your community from WT is the general rule. I see no need to remove anything else. I still have the linker files installed because some aircraft still point to the old GNS. I’ve had no issues like this.

Totally agree, however landing this RV10 is quite the challenge for me - it seems to be very sensitive to ground effects lift. I’ve kind of settled on just one notch of flaps for the best landings so far. Of course I’ve been flying mostly in real weather with pretty stiff cross winds… So that’s a consideration, although I haven’t noticed this problem in the RV14. It’s probably just me, though!

Yes. Check my post from a few hours ago - it’s 5 posts above where you wrote this. Take any WT mods out of your community folder, then in the sim go into your content manager, search installed mods for Working Title, and delete all the ones it will let you delete. There are some that you do need, those don’t have a delete option.

Thank you. I did that.
It definitely made a difference on this RV10. I didn’t notice so much with the RV14. I think I was still able to perform normal autopiloted ILS approaches in it while all the WT mods were installed, whereas the RV10 was pretty much unpredictable.

Yeah I noticed this too. Is there confirmation somewhere that the RV-14s avionics play better with the WT GNS? I like having it installed for my other planes but I uninstall it to fly the Vans. If I could keep it an just fly the 14 I’ll just do that. I guess this is something I could experiment with myself but would be nice if someone knew.

Is it a community folder mod or a content manager mod ? I use the addon linker so swapping things depending on what I want to fly isn’t a problem. I haven’t flown anything since the quick RV-10 test so not sure what I have that is affected.

If it’s a content manager mod can I just copy the folder into my community folder ? Then I can swap it in and out with a mouse click instead of uninstall / reinstall.

You shouldn’t have to remove anything from WT that’s directly in the sim. Just keep the community clear of WT or PMS mods. The latest PMS GTN being the exception.

I had no WT or PMS mods in my community folder except the latest PMS GTN. RV-10 was broken. I deleted all the WT mods I was allowed to from the content manager. RV-10 started working properly.

Just gonna leave that there …

It never surprises me how different setups can behave with the almost infinite combinations that can interact in weird ways.

Nothing deleted other than the community stuff I suggested and all working fine here. It seems no hard and fast rules for this.

Slightly alarming news in the Real world for Vans.

Very true. You only have to look at the CTD threads where some report the sim is totally broken, and unusable with a crash every flight, and I’m sitting here not having had an in-flight crash all year.

And that includes many hours in the RV-10.

Sounds like something worth testing, but I wouldn’t know where to begin trying to find official content manager mod files in the main sim that one could copy and paste into the community folder.

I might give it a look later, though, after I’ve completed today’s honey-do’s and various errands.

Go to your community folder. Go up one level. You should see a folder called Official. Try that
