Snow Coverage in Summer

Hello All
I set the sim to August - and I have a thick snow layer down to the lower valleys of Switzerland… Why is this? I mean - it does not reflect the reality at all. How can I get rid of that pesky snow lol?

Thanks mate! How do I vote for this? I see only 9 (!?!?!) votes for this? Are most people living in the desert haha?

Top left of the topic body you should see a big VOTE button.

This subject has been on and off for a long time. Summat to do with imprecise METAR data.

The problem is, there are like 50 topics complaining about the broken snow coverage in different areas, focusing on different parts of the world specifically, etc, so the bug votes are spread all over the place.

Link: Currently open topics discussing snow coverage problems

However, there are two topics that currently have quite a few votes:

If all these votes across topics were added together it would definitely be a top user vote.

Apparently it came up in a dev stream and there was a promise from Jorg to get back to us on it “early next year (2023).”

Seb does say that Meteoblue has better data available, and that they’re in talks on hopefully adding it.

I think it is an attempt to fight global warming…

Me too. Berner Oberland, Wallis, all in the snow. Other areas are correct.

promised for early this year. It is September now, and no change. I fly over the Alps in warm weather, and suddenly I fly into Winter and Snow. BTW I have noticed similar situations in Western Canada /Alaska Panhandle.
