So tired of

without mod you can not use the simulator correctly, like a320, 787, so forth… coz the sim does not come with the passanger view, as we want, correct movements, sounds, liveries, anything. I have the simulator since it came out on the market, and I tell you what? " im tired " of every update that comes out. I am not a computer expert, so I must be guessing whats problably had been modified, since it is getting worse and worse performance, mean a lot of stuttering, I must be guessing (surfing on internet and youtube trying to find the answer) if the mod is the problem, if it is the simulator, the graphics card…setting and so forth, over there and over here i move, and I spend more time trying to fix everything than fly and have fun.

Although I sympathise with you mods/addons have ‘always’ been part of the Flight Simulator ecosystem. It simply wouldn’t be possible for MSFS/Laminar to design a simulator which has everything, study level aircraft, detailed airports. The best thing is to only have the mods which you are actually using in flight. I make sure to include the version number of every addon.

It’s something that we will just have to accept

With the exception of Xplane, I have had almost every sim I could buy, and all the MS one’s since FS5
You always spend more time trying to fix everything, it’s never ending, but when you do get the sim set up just so, the reward actually is a good flight and having fun.
I look at like “it comes with the territory”!!

Yeah but with the older stuff, they didnt update every couple of months breaking everything in the process. I spend way more time trouble shooting lately then getting any actual flying time in. Its almost getting impossible to complete my morning benchmark flight anymore. But well right now its you know my end. Once thats fixed we’ll have to see Im waiting to pass judgement ;p

Welcome to flight simulators. It’s been this way for decades.

Yeah. Once you think than you had fixed all., the come other update than mess everything up and everything goes to ■■■■ again, mean stuttering due conflicts between programs.

Alternative is supposed to be released this quarter, I dont really care about the PG as much as I do about consistency and attention to detail.

As others have said, sims are like this. And not just MSFS. They are all like this.

You might enjoy a more mature sim like X Plane 11, since it is pretty ironed out by now. Major bugs fixed. Tons of 3rd party ad ons available.

A young sim is always buggy. Stock planes are never study level.

And… and some folks enjoy this aspect of sim flying.

Every sim has a life cycle. They always start with growing pains. You can always fly another sim until this one hits adulthood.

It’ll get there. It is well on its way. But it will take time.

Until the next SU if forced upon you.

Do you play on the PC or on the Xbox?

If PC: be glad that you can use mods on it. I bought the Xbox specifically because of the simulator and I’m already really disappointed. It’s just a money machine on the Xbox. While the PC players can use free mods and extremely spice up the game, the console players have to pay money for everything. Mods are non-existent.

I would already be happy if there was a way to display the current position on mobile.
Instead I always have to open the vfr map which is just useless for anything.
And if I display all city names, it takes away extremely much of the realism.

Please build in a UDP interface like in X-Plane so that apps can show the current position on a map.
PC players can resort to a mod for this. We Xbox players can’t.

The simulator reminds me of the Google Earth flight simulator. You see beautiful landscapes, but the details are missing. There is nothing special to discover. Power plants, churches, cable cars, ships (only with paid addon) - the world in the simulator is just not alive.

Add-ons for sims are the norm for all sims for ages now. This is just the way it is.

Where I draw the line though is that it takes modders to fix broken stuff that Asobo can’t be ■■■■■ to fix or to add in stuff that should be basic, bare minimum functionality that’s been in every previous version of MS sims but is now missing.

Get used to the slow roll out.

That is Microsoft Games way, especially since they have geared towards Game Pass and subscriptions.

Keep people subscribed. Keep them coming back to older games. Keep slowly adding content.

Kinda like a MMORPG.

It mostly is an Xbox thing. Forza Horizon 5 and the new Halo are also handled in a similar way.

At least this title allows 3rd party support. Even on Xbox. With an in sim marketplace. That’s a monumental change in the Game Pass tradition.

Far from true. I fly the 78X mod-free all the time. 1400 or so hours on it says you’re wrong.

It’s all about expectations. And it’s unrealistic to expect 20 study level aircraft in a 120,-€ product that not only contains aircraft but also the whole world as a scenery and as a bonus: the whole flight simulation software as well. So I’m also so very tired of this argument.

If FS2020 cost 1.200,-€ - maybe your expectations would be realistic.

But reality is that this is a product for the general masses first, and for the so-called serious simmers, second. MS and Asobo want to earn money and that means catering to a large cloud. Lockheed Martin brought P3D out as a specialised training program. Totally different target audience. That’s why P3D initially was extremely expensive.

The general masses however may never have played a flight sim, never heard anything about DMEs, SIDs and VORs and for them the A320neo will most likely be realistic and complicated enough. Also: passenger views are available as mods, but I have never seen a pilot fly his plane from economy class.

If you want something more realistic: the PMDG B373 is coming soon. It will set you back about half the price of the whole MSFS Premium Deluxe package <=> that’s how much more effort has to go into development. If you want something better it’ll most likely cost you more.

BTW: if you now tell me you fly on XBox and can’t use mods, then I will have to tell you that you are probably missing out on the greatest part of flight simming and I recommend investing in a PC instead.

MSFS is a platform. It’s meant for a broad audience, not just "real-simmers*. It will have more study-level aircrafts coming this year after the CRJ last year. And it is not so much about general masses not having played “a real sim”, but giving them a sim where they can start easy and advance to wherever they want to, learning those “DMEs, SIDs and VORs”, without demanding previous knowledge or experience of being a “real-simmer”.

Yup. Consoles have been ignored by flight sims for ages. It is an untapped marketplace. The console sim racing community is die hard and some of the rigs rival PC systems.

And everyone wants the Xbox Marketplace to thrive. There’s money to be made.

Also, flying in 4K HDR in 3rd person from the couch has its own appeal.

Just one exception to this, and as was said in the last update. This sim is largely built on FSX, and it seems a ton of stuff never made it across. Now what that means and why is now obvious, but the progress has been good.

However things do really need to start picking up on the core front and they are to some extent, SU8 new prop model, better SDK etc. But it is really taking it’s time. And no matter what, and I know this will be the king, it was IMHO badly thought out and released way to early. But we are getting there.

Your message is very well stated.

IMHO, I´m a XBOX series S user, and after years away from simulation, returned last Christmas. My wife gifted me a brand new console. I have absolutelly no reasons to complain, the sim runs fine, no freezes or CTD. Using on Sony 55´ 4k with motion flow activated and the simulator run constantly at 60FPS. Flow last week from Boston to New York - New York to Charlotte and last leg Charlotte - Orlando, no frame drops, nothing wrong.

Obviously no aircraft study level yet, but to be honest, nothing compared with FSX ou P3D or XP. When you look at the window, photogammetry, the “life” outside, it´s already enough and a point of no return to other sims

It´s a newborn simulator, be sure that things will become better in the future

Buy a PC gamer here in Brazil is a non-sense, it´s 4 times expensive than xbox.

well same here, the xbox s cost me 300, a pc that can run the sim good will be 2000.
even worse…and actually i am really happy how it runs, and yes i knew beforehand that
the xbox is a closed system and will always have less addons, so be it.
i think part of the problem is , xbox users are used to xbox games, you cannot compare
a flightsim to those.
bottomline, i am really happy with how it goes on xbox s.
