So what are we expecting from update 7 & 8?

Different teams.

This will also have fixes, not just US update most likely

My major gripe is the Copilot. I am not going to fly for real until I have explored the areas. I have reported the problems with the copilot but no response. To be perfectly honest at the present time I regret buying the sim, it is not delivering what was promised.

I expect not much, asobo have shown that they dont have big fixes, and they break things often with patches.

DX12 i expect perhaps summer 2021, other games have shown that this takes time.

That rule doesn’t exist nor should it. Imagine a graphic designer fixing code. Or a programmer designing landscapes. It just doesn’t work out. You wouldn’t let a painter fix your TV now would you?

I always thought the FSX documentation - the Machado tutorials and the associated articles, were actually pretty decent. They seem to have adopted the first Machado one for MSFS, but stopped after that.

Yes, I’ve still got my FS2000 manual, and I’ve been referring to it quite a bit recently, as well as watching a couple of the Machado videos (though his sense of humour is not quite my style).

I did like the FSX documentation, more like an encyclopedia than a manual but always good to dip into. I wouldn’t have thought it would take to much effort to modify bits of it for use with FS2020, but perhaps there’s a copyright problem.

Know what you mean. I haven’t seen the vids but on the training ‘missions’ in FS2004/FSX it does grate a little bit …

The documentation just seems written documentation to me. Unless there’s some odd legal reason you could just copy it, I think it’s all in HTML. Might have to tweak some of the videos.

Flying cars hopefully :upside_down_face:

Complete with fully functional autopilot. :robot:

What’s wrong with the Cessna? I fly it just fine. Is the autopilot issues and navigation issues that I wish they fixed first.

Gotta take care of COVID and people’s health first. It’s really disrupting many industries.

Don’t they need ir for xbox?

The next update (7) is likely to be the US world update. Almost certainly any other releases this year will be small patches similar to the last one and then the big update “update 9” is in Feb and that one looks the biggie update.

They mentioned TBA>>to be announced with XBOX one do not recall them mentioning it coming with X BOX series X

I think that means that DX12 will come around the time when the sim is released on the XBOX X, not when the XBox X hardware is released. There is currently no date set for the sim to be available on the console.

But the work already started.
If not before Alpha then at least during Alpha.
So they are developing it for at least 3 months now.

From the status on grainy reflections - where they said earlier that this will be solved with DX12 - you can see that work has started.

When it will be done though, remains a mystery for now.

Yes, I’m sure they mentioned they started on it a long time ago with a dedicated team.
But how long it will take for the Xbox version to arrive is anyones guess.
I doubt we will see a PC version with DX12 until after the Xbox version arrives. My prediction is 6 months to a year from now.

Garmin G1000 manual.

I could post you links for manuals for all the hardware and aircraft, but that’s what the search function on your browser is for.
