So what are we expecting from update 7 & 8?

Totally agree. Autopilot not fit for purpose and MCDU very limited. A320NX

I’m surprised you list the A320 on your good list. I find that it frequently drifts off the flight path during the approach phase for no apparent reason. I’m glad to hear you’re having better luck with it.

The Cessna AP is completly broken, that is the issue

In this patch it is super bugged, but up to the last one it was mostly fine for me with the FBW mod

I already know that but thanks anyway! just don’t want to spread misinformation

Which Cessna? I’m using the 172 steam guage version seems to work ok for me for heading and alt hold and vs climb/descend

Exactly hope this doesn’t confuse anyone!

the G1000 version

I have approx 600 hours IRL, many of those on an 172, and I can tell you, AP is “broken” on the real plane too. Meaning, poor ability to maintain correct attitude in windy conditions.
Some models even have a disclaimer in the cockpit.

It maybe on your end. I have flown the 172 quite often, and aside for a couple of times where the AP did not engage, it works fine.

At least in update 7 there will be this:

And those are nice to have. Hope it goes well (with a few more fixes   )

I wish that they will tell us, they have started investigating/fixes for the Longitude

Unsure which Cessna you mean. I’m flying the CJ4 around the world right now in trips of about 1,5 hours on autopilot mostly except takeoff and approaches. And it flies like a dream. Took it from Amsterdam and now on the eastern side of Iran (Zahedan airport). This weekend I’ll be getting to India and then Nepal… just a bit worried about the Lukla approach in the CJ4 really…

Very doable. The hill provides a lot of braking effect. Trick is getting turned around at the top, with a tug.

The dev update today confirmed the next update is the World Update for US. Two weeks to go!

Perhaps you could actually define the issue vs “it’s broken”. That’s not very helpful to anyone.

I flew a 40 minute IFR flight from CYOW to CYGK with the C172 G1000 earlier this afternoon. No issues with the autopilot on my end.

Now, I have seen both the G1000 and G3000 freeze up completely when you make changes to the flight plan en-route or enable the approach, but that seems to happen randomly. That’s a new issue for me since the last patch. But when it works, it works fine as expected.

I expect more cursing… :grinning:

Hello everyone.
There is a very true saying: starting the house from the roof does not have a good ending.
My priorities:
Monitor CPU and GPU performance.
DirectX 12 and SDK
Without the SDK, other third-party developers have their hands tied to get their work done properly. Example, PMDG, Aerosoft, etc.
After this last patch you should listen more to the community of pilots and air simulation pilots.
Listen to your consumers.
The graphical views are fantastic, but if what we are going for is that the basics are not touched, it is not improved. Releasing patches without an improvement guarantee is a waste of time for developers and consumers. The reality is what it is. This simulator has good graphics, what about the rest?
I hope and wish that you go down a more professional path and not time picking apples.

Try this for size…
It uses the 747-8 cockpit

No, when there are fundamental issues its all hands on deck! Also look at the updates, nothing at all about the core issues. Regardless, this I bet will carry on till this time next year!

All - Suspect COVID is locking down Europe, they are doing what they can do, working from home. Yes, they should fix planes/systems long before releasing more fluff stuff. I am too busy flying to look our window as plane may try to kill me when I do.
DX-12 and X-Box, hmmm, end of 1st quarter next year earliest, they want it for Xmas, for the money, but just don’t think it close to ready yet. One poster said scenery is gray so won’t go to NYC. I won’t go either, too much crime, but would love a corned beef sandwich there, mmmm. I also would like to see Liberty, but not in this lifetime, and I live in the states. This last patch/update was better. But everyone’s systems and experiences are different, your issue may not be my issue, some are common across platforms/users. Hard to pin down, and even harder to fix so it’s clean for all. The 10 year timeline is good to know, as I have spent a chunk of change getting new controls for this thing, so I hope it gets better over time.
