Recently bought the SoFly : Landing Challenges Pro ((Xmas Sale December 2023 - $5.99)) activity from the MSFS2020 Marketplace on Xbox. Playing on Series X.
This contains 30 Landing challenges along with 3 Tour Flights. The challenges range from Easy/Pro/Tough.
Pros :
- The challenges themselves are pretty good. Variety of locations and terrain from all around the world and use of all kinds of different aircraft.
- No CTDs encountered
- No Technical issues encountered
Cons :
-
Grades/Points don’t seem to save and display correctly. So if you did a ‘Easy’ flight and got 1,200,000 points and an ‘A’ grade, that will not display on the main screen like it does for the out of the box MSFS Landing Challenges.
-
Also, say you did a pro flight, and scored 700,000, the display will still show your best points from the Easy flight you just completed for 1,200,000. Even though it’s a completely different challenge.
-
Friends points does not work. This is a real bummer because it kills any competitiveness you may have to better one of your friends scores for a particular challenege. From what I’ve read, this is not the developers fault but Microsoft/Aboso as they restrict developers from sharing data on Xbox.
Summary : I feel like without the grades and points properly tracking, and no friends tracking, it really takes away from the challenges. It’s like your getting half the mode compared to the official MS challenge flights. I’ve opened a support ticket w/ SoFly in case I don’t have a setting correct or an option turned off. If I hear anything back, I’ll update this post.
But if grade/point tracking/no friends tracking is the case for all the other SoFly Landing Challenges they have out in the marketplace, it makes me not want to purchase their other offerings.
