Sometimes I forget the amount of magic involved

I was just watching this video from Microsoft and man, sometimes when you are just using the sim you just forget how absolutely impossible this all was 3 years ago. The amount of engineering (=magic) that has gone into making this sim possible is mindblowing, and all thanks to Jorg’s dream.

I’m 41. Started playing games with the one button one stick Atari.

Video games have come so far, it’s truly amazing. Typically I like to stay behind so that when I buy a “new” game, it’s been out for a while and it’s cheap. I still get the new experience and by the time I’m ready for something new, I can get it cheap.

However last year I splurged and purchased a solid pc just to play this game. Rare for me to do that but absolutely zero regrets. MSFS 2020 is nothing short of amazing. It’s a glimpse as to where video gaming is headed.

Imagine these maps on GTA style of game. Great time to be alive!

I’ve been trying to pin down which was the last version of MSFS I played and judging by screenshots I’m now pretty sure it was MSFS 4.0, probably on a Mac in 1991.

So it’s been 30 years. I’m ready for the ‘magic’ on xbox in a few days time. :grinning:

Few years ago no one in the flight sim community imagined MS would decide to come out with a new flight sim. MS & Asobo has been a winning combo and I look forward to the years ahead as this sim matures and gets even better.

I used to go to the beach some 20 years ago to play MSFS 4.0 as well, the regional government put some PC’s in a tent so kids could play and those memories never left me

Yes, I agree.

Just wait though until VR becomes mainstream. Now that done properly with no lag and crystal clear graphics will really be a game changer :slightly_smiling_face:
