Sometimes it is the most irritating game out there (Loading issues with MSFS)

I think I lost the settings when I reisntall the sim as recommended in the text I pasted above
Becuase the sim started with those 5 screens of settings but in the past when that happened, after it reinstalled all correctly
I’m so afraid of closing it to test jajaja
But well now I know the disconnection trick, though we should not pass through those issues.

Thanks
Carlos

Yeah, that makes more sense, losing the settings when reinstalling.

Quite late to the party but what helped in my case whenever the sim stops loading to menu or CTDs in this phase is and was deleting all caches, especially the maps cache (which is located at AppData/Local/FlightSimulator/mapscache). Delete files and the lone folder inside this place.

At least in my case that worked 100% on such problems

I think I’ll try that too becuase I closed it and restart it requested this

Then stuck again at here despite the disconnection of the internet trick

It didin’t work
It is still on that screen above

The most impressive fact is the lack of assistance from MSFS staff

The junk just started and didn’t save any of the settings I set before closing it. Fascinating

Did you reach out to staff on Zendesk? Because on forums over here there is no official support by any MSFS staff  it’s just other users, forum moderators (volunteers) and community managers (part of Microsoft but two against thousands).

This is the place to be when it comes to official support on your issue:

Hi, no I didn´t
I though there was staff here. Thanks for your reply and help
When I have written to Zendesk it takes too long and usually I solve it myself

Just finished at 1 am to set this

Would you happen to know what this stands for?

If I click on it does it mean that all what I just set up will be saved as a preset somewhere?

Thanks
Carlos

The files for each of your controller profiles are in general saved “somewhere”

For Steam you find them here as well as the logbook:

For MS Store version they seem to be here here (cannot verify as I am on Steam):

Ok thank you
I asked because it is really strange that I had lost all of the configuation

I had reinstalled some other times and none of that got lost, I also lost my 1.000 hrs flown, my log, everything, so strange

Now when I change from a scenery to the main menu to select another airport it takes too long and freezes when the blue line ends, I have to disconnect the internet for the menu to show up
That never happened before.
I remember there used to display a sort of synchronization screen at the start that no longer is displayed.

Well, I am going to bed it’s almost 2 am
I hope this works tomorrow
Thank you for your time, your advises and your disposal

Best regards
Carlos

Did you log a Zendesk ticket? Ah, I see that was already asked.

As far as the wiped profile goes, that can happen when you start messing about with making the sim fire up offline.

If it does ignore your local profile, or you perhaps deleted it, if the sim cannot pull your profile from the cloud it creates a new, empty one. If you now put the sim online it syncs this to the cloud, overwriting the “real” one.

Hi
Thank you so much for this information I was not aware of that at all
I indeed launched it without connection hoping that it loaded “normaly” to be able to turn off the on line services as try again as recommended
I’m about to launch it and I hope all if fine

Thank you for your input

Cheers

Ou, never do that! MSFS needs to verify its your legal copy on start - this way it won’t ever let you use it properly

What about your profile? I’m assuming that has still been reset?

Oh yes! That’s true

Yes it has

As well as the logbook

Thank you for your concern

Great to see you got it working, that is really frustrating.

I didn’t know about the “cut the networking” trick to get it to load if stuck like that. Good to know, thanks for the tip!

Fwiw I’ve had some loading issues I had to troubleshoot with the SU10 Beta (which may or may not be applicable to SU9), and resolved: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/fast-loading-now-slow-loading/536048

I also posted a question on the SU10 Beta Q&A to discuss loading time and loading issues (this being a good example), and personally would like to see logging done client side, so users can easily see what might be causing it to hang on their side: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/are-you-going-to-fix-the-loading-times-which-are-getting-worse-with-each-su10-beta-release/536488

Of course, that won’t help XBox users, but could be useful for PC users trying to understand why their loading time has suddenly ballooned.
