List updated with the Mig15, it is very good but I think it is now abandoned.
Bear Studios MiG 15 is sold in SimMarket and JustFlight. Is basically the like P3D one.
There was a freeware MiG 15 “Aerosoar MiG 15” but has dissappeared. But there is another one in Simmarket, “MSSCENERY MiG 15”, I have read somewhere that is the same but turned to payware.
Yes, I was referring to the Bear Studios M15, the others are pretty much garbage level I won’t add any Mscenery add-ons to the list.
I think most of us is waiting for civilian airliner to be added to your list at some point
this is the saddest thing to happen
It looked sooo amazing! I wonder whats up with him.
The last video he posted was a year ago (I think) and the aircraft seemed to have been well advanced in development.
I guess we need to consider whether he may have lived (may live) in Ukraine. a lot of developers used to employ people from Ukraine and a lot of them are now delayed in development from what I read (majestic as well?).
If my assumption is true, than we may never see Tu-134 in our sims
The latest news I have is as follows:
- MiG-15UTI still in dev (but near completion) from Bear Studios
- Mi-17V-5 “Hip” Version 2+ likely this week by Cera Simulations
- MiG-25 Foxbat in development coming “soon” by GKS/Aviasim
No further updates.
I may have some news. Cockspur seems to be working on Antonov An-26. According to their recent communication, they put all projects on hold till end of year, no explanation given. I’m waiting for clarification if their roadmap has changed (they were supposed to do Hawker 800 than An-26, but than some time ago they dropped Hawker, so maybe they will resume An-26 in Jan 2025?
They don’t seem to like questions on their discord, and just say that they prefer to work without any inquiries whatsoever. I believe everything was placed on hold pending what MSFS2024 looks like. Honestly with how archaic the An-26 is in terms of odd systems logic, I wouldn’t even be surprised if they cancel it, but I guess we’ll see sometime next year. I haven’t been too impressed with their follow-up to issues with their existing products, so it’s not a hard loss for me.
Some user I can no longer locate on these forums claimed to be nearly done with a Tu-95, but it may have been a troll, as they had nothing to show for it. Other than that, the only Soviet-era stuff I know of for certain in dev is the Axios Mil Mi-2. At least the new GKS MiG-25 is great in the meantime.
I approached them via facebook. It took them two weeks to answer, but they did and I was glad to get the answer.
Yes, you’re right, an-26 is very archaic but even simplified version would make me happy. Maybe not Asobo level of simplicity, but, you know, just simpler than, say, Fenix a320 or PMDG products That level of “simple” should make it easier for Cockspur to actually manufacture the aircraft and would allow us, people with not even a vague idea how soviet aircraft work, to enjoy occasional stroll
So that’s my recent exchange with them. Judge it yourself, but now I know what people mean when they say, that Cockspurs replies are somewhat unfriendly and/or unhelpful
They answered clearly enough, all projects are on HOLD that means no progress untill they know what 2024 holds instore.
Id be pretty spikey too if i was asked the same question repeatedly in a short space of time.
As for them OWING you updates, they dont owe anyone any info until they decide to release it.
All your doing is asking " are we there yet, are we there yet, are we there yet, are we there yet?"
Every developer owes potential customers information. That’s how business is done. Especially in the world of IT. You wanna sell stuff, you have to do PR. You don’t have PR, you find yourself in financial difficulties like Cockspur.
The question was: has the project been terminated. It’s a yes or no type of answer. And taking the fact, that they want to get money off us (off me as a potential customer), they owe me courteous answer to my question. Look PMDS, Pilot’s, FFS, Aerosoft. Respectful answers to customers, respect from customers, money flowing. It’s the most basic law in sales.
No, they don’t owe potential customers anything. That kind of entitlement thinking always baffles me.
If you don’t like the way the developer communicates, just don’t buy their products, but still they don’t owe you anything.
Not really. They only owe what they promise in the contract when you buy the product.
And by contract I’m not referring to a piece of paper but to the things that are announced, advertised with the product.
For example a developer might say “here is my Mig-31 at $20” or they can say “here is my Mig-31 at $20, includes future updates for free, this is the roadmap of planned updates, support is free on the Discord server and will be compatible with MSFS”
You pay for what you are told not for what your imagination tells you.
It buffles you, because you never sold anything nor have you tried. I work in sales, I sale very particular stuff, so I know how it’s done. If you don’t respect your potential clients, you don’t earn. If they wanna sell something as marginal as antonov they need to respect those, who ask. In my business, a lot of sales is done not because someone walked in but because a friend of a friend had a good experience. Simple rules of sales: make happy one person and that person is not going to tell anyone. That person will come back. But make one person unhappy and that person will tell five others about bad experience.
LuisArgerich, you’re also not correct. Sales is sales. You sale stuff and you include stuff to it. You want to sale stuff, and you make good PR.
I’m not following.
If I offfer my Antonov for $20 and make it clear you are getting exactly what you are buying and I won’t plan to update it, I won’t talk to you, I don’t plan to do anything else. Then you are free to buy it or not buy it but you can’t demand anything else.
If a dev, like Cockspur, is unfriendly to customers you are free to stop buying from them, but being a customer does not create any obligation about them being nice. I agree with you being rude to customers is very stupid but it is not only legal but also works.
No, you’re right. But, if you’re planning to offer and you advertise, than you hope, long term, that it will bring you income. If asked about your product, you are not giving the answer in customer friendly manner, than you automatically fail because before you start selling your potential customers know, that your approach to them is not up to scratch. Therefore, if a developer is advertising, that they will sell, say Tu-144, that it sure is going to stir attention. said dev is than not giving updates, not answering questions or answers them in customer unfriendly manner, than they will not sell, ultimately, their investment is not going to return.
I would love to fly An-26 or 24, not as much 12, but I’d consider. Anyway, if someone advertises for the future, there are things they should expect, f.ex questions, potentially repeatedly, especially if there was no update for a long time. I have it on a daily basis. A lot of info people ask is on the website, but again, I want to sell, they want to buy, therefore I answer and if they are happy, they come and buy.
To put it into context sim related: There was Tu-134 in development, and the guy posted videos on you tube and so on, the project looked advanced. I approach him and asked (on you tube) if he would consider on release or later, to release version with english description for those, who don’t speak Russian he replied that english speaking devs don’t publish in Russian, so he doesn’t care about non Russian speakers. And if I want to buy his plane I’d better start learning Russian. The plane has not been released after all. Why? Because despite big interest from non-Russians there was little market for it.
My opinion on the matter is, that if we’re talking about rare, unpopular aircraft, which will potentially not sell well in “The West”, than you either mass produce like Virtualcol or, if you want quality and you want to charge a price for it, you need to make people like you before you sell. £20 is not much for 80% in The West, but it’s a loooot of cash in Africa, Central and Eastern Europe, Oceania, South America etc. That’s what I mean.
Maybe they had shares in JustFlight?
