Can you start a flight cold and dark, without the walkaround step?

I hope we can do this too. Donât know if I also missed an option or they need to implement an option to do it. Itâs nice but I donât want to do it every time.

Yeah this kind of LARPing is a neat idea every now and then but not something I want to be forced to do every start.

I am genuinely curious as to why not. The realism crowd is all about making sure all the steps are there to enter a flight plan in an Airbus but a step of the flight literally there since the first flight at Kitty Hawk is too much realism? You would never fly an aircraft without inspecting it first. Although a âDesignate to copilotâ button would work with a spot for your signature.

Starting from cold and dark is not about ârealism crowdâ, it is just more convenient in some more complex aircraft, airliners etc.
Being forced to do a walkaround every time is just a waste of time and it is a complete joke⊠Can someone confirm it really is necessary to do walkarounds before every cold and dark start?

Thereâs a million things real pilots do that I donât need to. I do enjoy starting up the airplane & entering the flight plan, but I can also import it from Simbrief. Some people like to start on the runway & press ctrl-E. It should be an option, is the point.

I have limitted time to fly so Iâd prefer to spend it in the cockpit.
Itâs great to have the OPTION to walkaround but making it the only choice IMHO would be a bad decision

Much more importantly make the camera properly inverted in walk about mode. . This is a. flight game, the one place idiots who think up is up shouldnât be the default.

While there is nothing wrong with the topicâs request, these are not very constructive arguments for your points:
What is your source for this information? Airliner simmers never had the chance to do any kind of walkaround, which real pilots do, especially before a first flight of the day. Why might they not want to consider simulating that?
Regardless of the game type, view settings are a preference and nothing more.
For the record, for a decade I was a die-hard for the âpush forwards to look downâ option with first-person games. It was how most old-school games were configured. After many years, I actually came to preferred âupâ (forwards) to look up. So I have used both plenty.
How can you say one version is âcorrectâ?

No airline pilots are taking off engine covers and pito covers or chocks in real life, that is the jobb of the ground crew and the people taking out the aircraft and towing it from the hangar.
Its more realistic to have walk around for GA aircraft.

Also hoping for an option to turn off the walkaround, and just starting in the cockpit cold & dark like in 2020.

OP may want to add a vote to this topic. Itâs quite clear the walkaround checks are mandatory for the foreseeable unless someone releases mod (useless to Xbox simmers of course).
Walkaround checks are absolutely great for GA flying, not so great for airliners. If a pilot is removing engine covers from an A330 before a long haul flight, thereâs going to be ALOT more tasks than removing pitot covers. Only time engine covers are used is when the aircraft is in storage or some other reason, saw plenty of this during the pandemic. NOT before it jets off to Ibiza.
Like others have said, time is precious.

Ok, fair enough on those points. But they do make a walkaround for a visual inspection, so some parts are perhaps relevant. Of course I agree with all features like this being made optional. Choice is good.
(I havenât yet been able to experience a walkaround or an airliner or anything at all besides the menus, just for the record.)

And you canât even put the covers and chocks back yourself. They just vanish forever once removed.
