Steam / config settings, location

Could you please help me, guys?
I installed the Steam version, I’d like to backup the joystick, throttle, pedals settings.
I searched inside the Steam folder but I couldn’t find it.
Are they saved to Cloud, as the MS Store version?
Thank you

For Steam version all simulator config should be found here:
C:\Users\<your_username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator

Yes, Steam uses the cloud.

You’ll get a message if there is a missmatch between local data and the cloud and which one you wish to overwrite.

As for the install path, it is as posted above.

No this is NOT the install path, this is just the local configuration path. The sim is installed per default in the steam library. For example C:\<your_steam_lib_location>\steamapps\common\MicrosoftFlightSimulator

Correct, however the configuration is installed in the path you provided as he was asking about, not the core sim.

Sorry for not clarifying if that caused any confusion.

I forgot to mention : MSFS 2020 ( Steam, as well ) is not installed on C partition.
And, by the way, I play with the exactly user name, but the logbook ( hours ) starts again from zero

Joystick, throttle, pedals, logbook & profile is stored here:
x:\Steam\userdata\[your Steam ID]\1250410
(x is the location where your Steam is installed)

Program settings of the MSMF (Steam) under
C:\Users\[your Windows username]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator
(the folder is hidden and must be made visible first)

In the Steam install location, I have the userdata folder. In this folder I do not have any files with my Steam ID
There is one single folder : 198888135
I guess is for IL 2 Sturmovik BoS

And here is the Roaming folder ( printscreen )

The folder “198888135” is not a game ID. There is no Steam game with this ID. The number looks like your Steam ID. Open the folder and all the folder IDs of the installed games should now appear.

BTW: IL-2: BOS has the Steam ID 307960

According to this example:
x:\Steam\userdata\[your Steam ID]\1250410
So your path should probably be:
..\Steam\userdata\198888135\1250410

So open following folders:
Steam > userdata > 198888135 > 1250410

Yes, I have this folder 1250410
In this folder are 2 files
remote ( folder - see the printscreen, pls )
and another file, called remotecache.vdf

There are the files you are looking for. Just backup the whole folder 1250410 and you have your joystick, throttle & pedal settings, logbook & profile saved.

The inputprofile_xxxxxxxx files are the control profiles (self-created) for MSFS.
With the editor, you can open the files and see for which device it is with the associated profile name.

Thank you, guys.
One more question, I’m not sure if you can help me with this
Every time after I press the FLY button, no matter if airborne or on the taxiway, I start from the external view.
Can I change that ?

Starting at 1.00 PM on November 16, 2021 the simulator crashes after 5 10 minutes from take-off and exits. The game closes and I find myself on the deskop . Have you also had problems?

I couldn’t launch it anymore, I tried many times, no go
Even after I searched on this forum, I did step by step everything. I gave up and I purchased the Steam version
I’ll never buy again something from the MS Store

Is there a setting, for my previous post with external view ??

I’m not sure now, since I’m not on the PC. Try it:
General Option > Camera > Global Settings > Camera Selection > Cockpit
General Option > Accessibility > Skip Pre-Flight Cinematics > on

Here is the path where all the Controller Profiles are located (Steam installation version of MSFS). (The folders with just numbers are random numbers, different for different people).

C:\Steam\userdata\94959374\1250410\remote

each controller profile will have one simple text file that can be edited in notepad.
these profile files have names such as: inputprofile_0432525984
but that file is just a simple text file.

I guess it’s not possible, but I dare to ask : I switched from MS Store to Steam version, I’m playing with the same Xbox username
Is there a way have the Logbook from MS Store, back?
Thank you
