Stone cliffs of Pain

I don’t know what causes this stone wall effect, but it needs to be avoidable. This is an airport (KTHV) in suburban Philadelphia, but it happens all over.

Photogrammetry is probably the cause. Try turning it off.

This can happen if you have a 3rd party addon of the airport in the community folder that isn’t fs2024 compatible.

How could disabling photogrammetry, a key feature of the sim, be considered a solution? Asobo must fix these issues.

I have photogrammetry turned ON and don’t experience the issue. Could other users test this airport with photogrammetry ON to confirm if there is an issue or not ?

Photogrammetry can do weird things (mostly on Xbox I believe) and those things can even depend on the aircraft being flown with inibuilds airliners being quite vulnerable to them. From invisible walls on runways and taxiways flipping your aircraft at any moment (KSFO feels like you are off-roading with PG on) to cliff faces in the middle of an airport (LPMA and EGPB are 2 that immediately spring to mind). I’d say it’s generally worse when landing at the end of a long flight than it is for departing which makes it feel like a memory issue. There’s also potential for it being an internet bandwidth issue as well. Very hard to pin down but I haven’t tried PG in 2024 as the sim immediately has a fit as my 70mb connection can’t cope

EDIT: Recently a member of a VA I’m in was hitting a huge pot-hole and crashing at KMIA 26L. Told him to turn off photogrammetry and the pot-hole disappeared

I do not have any issues with the airport myself. However the reason I posted above for him to turn photogrammetry off is I have witnessed that behavior countless times already. Not sure if its a resource issue, memory leak, bandwidth issue or something else. Apologize for the evening shot.

I got plenty of these countless cliffs.
Been trying lately a few mods, free as paid.

If I could only get an 40% improvement is asked for too much.

Altitude could help, minimum 2000ft above your subjects might improve.

Do not use zoom.

This is an issue on Xbox hardware. I am also on PC. Why did you move this to community support? Only ones that are going to potentially fix this issue for them is the devs not the community.
