Streamers, anyone having big frame drops with Streamlabs?

Has anyone been having problems with streamlabs? I keep getting huge performance hits after a few minutes of recording or broadcasting. As soon as I turn it off, things go back to normal.

I’ve tried every setting in the book with the same issue.

thought I gave you already a hint how you can use the Forum Search functions..

Here again from your lovely slave a 5 second search result

you know, you could just ignore me.

Not too mention it didn’t answer my question at all friend. I’m asking about streamlabs…

I’am here to help.. also that users learn how they can use the forum search function and of course with a usefull link to an existing thread

I do know how to use it, and I use it a lot. And that link, just like the other one didn’t help answer my question.

the same what is relevant for OBS is it also Streamlabs  … all tools which needs additional performance, run with msfs possible in trouble. Therefore the hint to shadowplay.
Of course “shadowplay” can not stream..

But here’s the thing- obs works fine. I have absolutely no problems with OBS. Streamlabs kills my FPS by 10 after a few minutes. Same settings, same overlays, same widgets. This is what’s driving me nuts.

hmmm.. normaly the tools have the same “base”.. as say’d.. all the “extra functions” which you possible use, eg. rescaling, needs a lot of power , but MSFS needs all of them.

I normaly lost around 5% with OBS.. not realy notable…you use the nvidia encoder or CPU (x… ) ?

I tried both but prefer Nvidia, and I also tinkered with different resolutions and bitrates. The only difference is that in OBS the base isn’t my setup- I can’t set it to 3840- it tops out at 2560. In Streamlabs I can downscale to 2560 for the output. I wonder if the downscaling is doing something?

yes.. the re scaling needs power

I use OBS with nvidia too… I can directly see the load if addtional the UI comes on top, which also show the ‘video’. In case of Streaming and rescaling 4k->WQHD I see more load, but normaly my PC have enough “power reserve” ( never tried it for MSFS ).

Within internet are lots of reports like yours with fps loosing if Streamlabs starts. Some users fix it in way they disable other overlays ( steam, geforce,.. ).. might be is worth to test.

In 99,..% of case I record videos only and use eg. Davinci for cutiung. If you not need that tool for live-streaming you should better use shadowplay. It has zero impact and I record with 4K 80mbit , sometime 100mbit.

What a goofy world. Everything is only 80% lol. I prefer Nvidia for recording, but not for streaming because it’s so limited as far as options for overlays and widgets. Streamlabs is good for streaming but not so good for recording. Obs is good for everything but not as convenient as SL, and I can’t even get Xsplit to work at all :man_shrugging:

I’ll try that overlay idea- I use shadowplay for the filters, but they’re not that important really. I do notice that if I take a screenshot with Nvidia while SL is recording, my system definitely doesn’t like that one bit, so we’ll see what happens.

BTW, what bitrate do your record at? NVM- just noticed it at the end of your reply.

yep.. there is not a tool which can do all realy realy perfect

PS.: I quickly again google.. also streamlabs FAQ mention that overlay issue with a relativly “up2date” date

I really appreciate your help, but can you please stop with the “you should search” stuff. It’s kind of insulting. I read that article a while back after using the Google machine.

I spend hours a day on here and other places searching. So, I didn’t catch one thing…

I’ll report back if anything pops.

you see the " I " means " I searched " and not “You should”. If you not want read hints and answers, don’t create topics.

And if you already found this FAQ, why you not mention it and why you not already tried it ?

Ok, really, just ignore anything I say or do on here. I don’t want to interact with you anymore.
