Stuck on Checking for Updates (2 September 2024)

I’ve got this problem AGAIN! stuck on the checking for updates, worked fine last night, this morning stuck solidly again on the “checking for updates” screen.

I’ve never known a game in the history of computing (and I’m talking 40+ years) to have so many problems, I also hear that FS2024 will be more cloud based so even more errors like this will happen, you would have to be in la la land to even consider buying this new version just so you can stare at a blank screen most of the time.

Spinny thing is rather hypnotic but I’d rather be flying. Restarted PC and its still going round. Suppose I’d better get dressed!

I’m getting stuck on the “Checking for updates” screen this morning, in the UK.

I’ve relaunched the sim twice, and getting the same thing.

UK based. I’ve just had one disconnect/connect during a 30 min session. I’ve never had this on my system before except for during the recent reported outbreaks. 500mbps fibre connection. CAT5 to PC.

Same thing here. Was doing flight and all servises went off tried to turn then on but no luck then restart the sim and stuck “checking for updates” lives in UK as well

Just adding it’s down for me too (based in UK).

EDIT - i tried enabling it mid-flight and it took 10+ minutes to “please wait, applying settings”. Nearly closed the long haul down.

We have an acknowledged Azure outage affecting users in the UK regions. Please see this webpage for updates on the status: Azure status

Would this be the same reason I keep getting “bandwidth too low” error today, and then getting switched to offline graphics?

And could it also be anything to do with the erroneous/missing live weather injection that people were experiencing recently? Live weather data injection bug - September 2024 (not general accuracy) - #28 by utd4life12

Only users from the UK are reporting issues, and one of them is the “bandwidth too low” issue. I’m also in the UK and able to reproduce this issue, which we believe is directly linked to the current Azure outage given the fact that we have a confirmed outage just in the UK for Azure and only UK players reporting simulator issues.

Thanks
