Stuck on the “set your experience” screen, update not downloading after multiple attempts

Have tried updating graphics drivers and windows, limiting network speed for the update, ran as admin, “netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal”, clearing cache folder, reinstalling, restarting PC… nothing. Prior to 1.9.3 I had no problems. I haven’t been able to play the game for the past two days :frowning: hoping there is a fix for this soon.

try unplugging usb devices, I had to do this a few times in the past when stuck there. keyboard and mouse are okay but try removing others.

Check if you don’t have the bandwidth limited in the ‘data’ options in the sim.

I had mine limited, then the update came and I foolishly tried to let it update and then when it wouldn’t I was told to reinstall, but because I have the steam version, somehow the setting is still saved no matter what I do and now I am completely unable to play. I cannot even get to the menu because it needs to download all teh game again and is stuck in an endless loop!

Did you ever find a fix for this? I have exactly the same problem and have had it for like 1 month now… Need to download a 105 GB update but it just won’t download…

Hey, the bad news is I never found a fix yet. I’ve tried everything! Only thing I haven’t tried is making a new Microsoft account then buying xbox gamepass and installing it that way. I will probably try that when I have several hours free time and am on the mood for being my own tech team. After I get it installed, if I get it installed, I will copy all the files and be able to play my actually purchased copy thru steam, maybe, I’m hoping. But who knows if I’ll run into the same issue with xbox game pass, or who knows if the next update will break it again? Nothing else has worked for me, but that doesn’t mean that one of the many proposed fixes wouldn’t work for you. I haven’t played since September update and I gave up on it for the longest while.

I’m working on it this week. I’ll let you know if I finally break through.

It works for me now when I launch it through gamepass from the xbox pc app. but it still won’t work in the steam version for me. At least a can play now although it’s just the standard edition. I feel like I’ve made progress.
