The Manfred DC3 is my favourite freeware of all time. There was Basler version in FSX too.
They may be slow in cruise but boy what a aircraft, it can carry very heavy loads, land on very rough muddy terrain and great STOL (Short Take OFF and Landing).
As a new simmer pilot I didn’t appreciate the unique capabilities of the DC3 and DC3T. Now with many years of flight siming, plus some real flying and landings under my belt I fully appreciate it.
A few weeks ago a DC-3T flew from its Antarctic base to a remote site to airlift a critical patient after a specialist team helicoptered in to secure a landing area. The DC-3T was the only air craft with the range and STOL that could do the extraction. So the DC3 is still saving lives and taking heavy loads to anywhere.

Aeroplane Heaven is currently working on converting their P3D DC-3 to MSFS. They said 1st quarter 2021, I don’t know how real that is.

Yep. I used tofy with my father and we had nothing. Had a 6b slide rule and a bunch of maps. That was it. I can manage the newer stuff but I’ve never been more disappointed in the aircraft of flight simulator as I am in this group. The whole thi g seems to be some conceit to fill the cockpits with glass so that unique programing for aircraft specific knobs will be limited. Favorite aircrsft out now despite the weird takeoff yaw is the waco. But yeah give me steam gages and analog controls for radio beacons all day. Dc-3, AT-6.. etc … I hear milviz is converting some of their stuff like the T-50.
came here looking for one.
btw.. you can find an operational one linked below.
Either for flights or what I really want… that sweet engine startup sound when it finally DOES hit the sim..

Some Jankees liveries would be the icing on the cake.

I’m sure they already exist
I would be surprised.
He generally likes to have a stable aircraft to work with, then they tumble out.

You can put me down for a DC-3. I hope one is available soon.

Ditto on the Connie! I want classic airplanes. I have had my feel of glass cockpits in FS2020 and in the real world, I want fun flying in FS2020. Classic airplanes with a basic AP, ILS, and an ADF. Sign me up!

Mark me down for interest in more study-level vintage aircraft like the DC-3! I started my virtual flying with FS95 but it was FS2004 with all the vintage aircraft that really captured my imagination! That, and working cargo for a small local airline 15 years ago that had Grumman Gooses (Geese?) and DeHavilland DHC-2 amphibs in their fleet.

Wouldn’t it be fabulous if A2A ported their CotS Constellation to FS2020!

I did not read every post, but referring the initial one, I can say that the DC3 is in development by Aeroplane Heaven.
They former released it for P3D

I’d SO pay for that. It’s FANTASTIC!
I’d pay big bucks for an A2A Simulations original Connie for MSFS. What a gorgeous plane.

The Aeroplane Heaven DC-3 looks so very beautiful, can’t wait to take that lovely machine to there and back in MSFS 2020!
