That looks like one impressive simulation indeed… but it looks more like a computer program than a real cockpit. I wonder if all these menus and popup windows this 650 presents are appropriate for study level, where you’d like to actually learn flying the real thing. You need a 3d cockpit view. Maybe a real “study level” simulator needs to be VR, and only using real controls in the cockpit, to prepare important things like fuel (17:00 in the vid). Also, voice recognition may come in handy for ATC.
Do you mean the popups that are usually on the secondary screens? xD
It works exactly so without any problems. Can’t fully speak for this aircraft, but my xp modules are almost entirely usable in VR. Also with pointctrl , i.e. without mouse, but with both hands.
I’d consider an airline first or second class officer to be “study level” proficient in his or her particular aircraft. What does that mean? That means anything that could go wrong that there is a contingency for is known and practiced to acceptable/passing/graded levels every six months. You don’t get paid for when things go right as they say. So, by extension, a study level aircraft should be able to teach you those things, whatever platform that may be… personal preference I would hope that would be a TBM 850 “hot start” version for MSFS 2020 w/ an emphasis on VR, and that nothing goes wrong just because it can… I like uneventful flights. Taking off & landing is enough for me, and all the phases in between!
I think “study level” is a relevant term. Something is “study level” until it’s not.
My working definition is an aircraft that has the ultimate in realism compared to its peers…thus the relevance. Something that is considered study level today may not be in a year or two if at that point it is surpassed by something else.
Here is another vid I made. I will be jumping for joy when stuff like this comes to MSFS. I’m super excited for the A2A PA24. Till then I have to keep multiple sims on my PC.
Basically ‘study level’ is a stupid term in the home simming world (that as far as I know no third parties themselves use). Nothing in a home setup can be ‘study level’, unless you’re spending literal tons of money on certified peripherals etc.
It’s probably better to stick with terms like ‘high definition’ or ‘high fidelity’ or something along those lines.
