SU10 now coming in August

short questin. will be in su 10 the ground handling of the aircraft fixed?

I think they will improve tire model in an upcoming update but i don’t know if it’s su10. I think it will be in a later update
because they have not showed it on q&a only talked about it. I know they said to improve contacts points or something, don’t know if that means the tiremodel though. Would be good with a more realistic tiremodel.

I think that there wil be a lot of things to do after system update 10.
With the speed Asobo works now it will be years of waiting for some of the customers.

SU10 will be just like any other past update. It will fix some things, and break some things. But I think the hype train for this update being the end all fix, to everyone’s problems is highly misplaced, given the track record of past updates. It’s been two years now, and there are still many, many day one bugs and issues, that at this point, may never get fixed.

I would rather see MS/Asobo, put out smaller, targeted patches, every two weeks, only focused on 2-3 issues at a time. The problem with this one big update every month or two is, if an update breaks some stuff that doesn’t affect sales, well, wait another month or two and it might get fixed then…or not…

This kind of every two month update release schedule would make sense if, this was a fully stable product and these updates added new features or fixed some minor bugs here and there…But this isn’t a fully stable and base feature complete…

That is the other thing though, we do not know how this update will be exactly it can be a head turner or a showstopper. The only difference between this update and the others is this one is being worked on for 4 months vs the less than 2 months update we got previously where they would build it out and test it for a month only.

Just like you mentioned every two-month updates would work if the sim was stable but unfortunately it is not. They even admitted themselves that giving only 1 month for testing is simply not feasible at all. That is why I have said that they should release small hotfixes based on only bug fixing and getting the sim right, and then move on to making sim updates large improvements regarding flight models, weather, sdk, etc with a small stability but only making them biannual updates to allow for more dev time and testing.

It makes more sense to adapt yourself to the way ground handling works then waiting msfs will be adapted^^

I think the difference between SU10 and others isnt only 2 month, its due to the time / season within a year … the time between SU9 and now was filled with “super fancy useless stuff” and also some holidays… now its june… holiday season is almost starting… i think the real time to focus with 100% attention and 100% manpower on su10 is quite low…

Asobo haven’t even promised specific performance and stability improvements in SU10, all of the posts here are just wishful thinking. I’m not expecting SU10 to fundamentally improve stability, which for certain is what we need on xbox. Sadly there’s no evidence I’ve seen to suggest otherwise.

Maybe that extra 2 months is the time they need to sneak out of town Bwhahahahahahhaha! :joy:

and regarding the new tire physics it sounded like they weren’t satisfied with its results and ended up disabling it on the plane they were testing it on… That’s disappointing, if true.

What bugs are you referring to? I fly the sim everyday and don’t have any problems other than things I would like to look a little different.

Nothing against consoles, but I think Asobo/MSFS made a huge mistake taking the sim into consoles. Now they have to deal with optimizing PC and Xbox which I’m sure has to be a nightmare. I mean look what happened with SU5.

These type of sims belong in PC’s.

I’m sure Xbox brings more money in, but at the end you have a this mess to deal with now.

..but maybe it’s still worth it.

SU9 actually still causing huge problems on Xbox Series X for many users.

Astonishingly, some testing I’ve done highlights that the sim runs very much better - extremely fluid, no stutters - on the Xbox Series S.

So Su9, a fix, an airport update almost simultaneously pushed with WU9 has caused massive issues and the sim on the Xbox Series X performs much worse than on the Series S.

How can that be?

It was a real debacle and I’m all for a development slowdown in order to concentrate on fixing these and other major performance issues for everyone.

We need to see how they do this though - from a selfish Xbox perspective, I’m amazed that no-one seems to have tested MSFS on real products or spotted that MSFS runs so much better on the less capable, cheaper Xbox. But I want all of us - PC and Xbox simmers to benefit.

Slowing down the update cycle gives them a chance to solve these problems and give us all stability and smooth performance- but they must take the opportunity to do the work -the QA that is so obviously missing, not just slow down and keep processes as they are

As your demands on a simulation increase, you will recognize the problems.

Anyone using a high res VR headset (like the G2 or above) is GPU limited

I agree. Actually, in my opinion, Microsoft were possibly disingenuous when they sold MSFS 2020 as it wasn’t a ‘new’ flight simulator at all. It was FSX in new clothes bolted on to a groundbreaking scenery simulator.

If I’d have known that that was never going to change, I would have saved my money.

Just because they pushed the update back doesn’t mean that they did so because they listened to some people shouting on a forum.

Yeah, they did say they were updating friction. But again… is that one or all aircraft?
