SU15 - Online users appear offline in Friends menu and on Map, but are online "Local Players" and within Sim

Brief description of the issue:

A new multiplayer issue has appeared since SU15. It has been noticed that some Friends incorrectly appear to be offline within the “Friends” dropdown menu and their planes also do not appear in the World Map, but these same “offline” users do correctly appear as Online in the “Local Players” dropdown menu as well as within the simulator itself.
This issues was not experienced prior to SU15.

Below is what is observed in the “Friends” dropdown menu highlighting 2 friends incorrectly showing as Offline:

Yet within the “Local Players” dropdown menu, these same 2 players are properly showing up as Online:

Within the sim itself, they also properly appear…

Note: This particular screenshot was taken without an empty Community folder, but the same issue occurs when testing with it empty.

Detailed steps to reproduce the issue encountered:

  • Ensured all players are using same Multiplayer server (US West)
  • Ensured “All Players” Multiplayer mode is set
  • Generally using Live Weather, but this doesn’t seem to matter
  • Ensured PC time is synced with Windows Time server

PC specs and/or peripheral set up if relevant:

  • Windows 10 Pro
  • AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D - 32 GB RAM
  • Geforce RTX 3070Ti

Build Version # when you first started experiencing this issue:

1.37.18.0

I reviewed the 2 other report threads, however, while somewhat similar, they don’t really match what is being seen in this bug report.

In this case being reported,

  1. issue started with Su15. This was not an issue in Su14.

  2. They appear in the local players drop-down menu and within the flight itself and don’t disappear there but show as offline in the Friends dropdown menu and in the world map.

  3. I validated the Xbox privacy settings and all are unchanged (all are set to allow).

Oddly, as can be seen on the screenshots that were included, while some players do properly show up in as online on the Friends menu and in the map, others do not. They all show up in the Local Players drop-down and within the game though.

I’ve tried unfriending and re-adding from the Local Players drop down menu, but the issue remains.

Very unusual issue.

Anyone has any updates if / when this bug will be fixed? Had same issue since about the same time-frame as OP. Is MicroSobo tracking this bug?
