It’s pretty sad that even after all the optimization they’ve done, FS24 still cannot look better than that on an X.
The real pity is it doesn’t look as good as 2020. I thought 2024 was supposed to be optimized with multi threading and such? I think perhaps they overreached.
That I do not know. I’ve never seen any correlation between AIRAC updates and LOD issues on my PC.
Yeah I mean if the consoles and lower tier GPUs need this redrawing to run better, cool technique. But for those of us with enough VRAM and fast CPUs, please let the sim make use of them.
One mile out from Edinburgh and no airport buildings to be seen. Xbox x. All things on and set to high.
Two hour flight from Miami to Washington Dulles. One mile from touchdown and runway just a blur. This will be my last post on this thread as I think what I’ve provided, along with others, shows there is a problem. Not “perceived” and not “scattered” as the survey origin from MS claims. Out.
Hello. I’ve noticed a significant reduction of terrain through the sim - doesn’t matter what airport I fly out of or into or what aircraft .
I have 1GB internet high speed fiber . Mostly notice it when airports I’m flying to are constantly blurry (they never used to be) but now they are . On SU4 they were not. Also noticed if I look left or right when on the ground it takes maybe 1-2 seconds for the terrain to load .
X box series X . Hope that helps .
Wouldn’t it make sense to include what settings people are using when posting screenshots e.g. texture resolution, terrain LOD and dynamic settings? (I don’t know if these are available on Xbox).
Have also noticed that in addition to terrain never really loading after a long flight, terrain takes much longer to load when you change views than it used to prior to SU5.1
1GB fibre , X Box X .
Not exactly going to win the photo comp is it ![]()
Hello @Visonzach,
What location was this and what aircraft were you flying at the time? What other features did you have enabled, such as Live Traffic, Live Weather, ATC, etc.?
Thanks,
MSFS Team
Hello .
Birmingham , UK .
Cessna Citation Longitude .
Live Weather , traffic set to off .
Issue is it doesn’t matter where I fly , it’s the same for every city . I can send more screen shots of other cities if you would like . It looks the same .
Hello @Visonzach,
Can you try disabling any third-party add-on products that you might be using? I just tried a flight over Birmingham in the Citation Longitude on my XBOX Series X and am not seeing the same very low res ground textures you are. Everything looks as expected for me from both the internal and external views:
Thanks,
MSFS Team
Birmingham usually looks like that for me too until I’m right above the photogrammetry area and then it looks ok. Your screenshot looks slightly further away than than Seedy’s. I have Pyreegue EGBB so could be that it is using more memory causing the degradation. It’s only noticeable if I’m taking off on runway 33. I don’t see it when using runway 15 as I’m flying away from the city anyway
Perhaps you could detail your settings and we could try to replicate.
Hello @Boeingspeedbird,
As I mentioned, these screenshots were taken from my XBOX Series X console, so there aren’t really any graphic settings to adjust. I copied the aircraft, traffic, weather, etc. settings from @Visonzach’s post above.
Thanks,
MSFS Team
Could you possibly fly a bit lower and further away like Visionzach and see if you get the degraded buildings then? It’s usually noticeable right after takeoff on runway 33 and looking out the left window, which looks as though that’s what they did.
